A university consultant is calling on Dominicans to embrace new distance learning opportunities to move the country forward.

Errol Holmes, Consultant of the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) says the institution will today launch its programs to Dominica at Fort Young Hotel; disciplines that Holmes believes are just what Dominica needs.

“There is a need for hospitality, there’s a need for education, there’s a need for tourism management, there’s a need for increased skills in IT, there’s need for increased accreditation, and qualification in the higher sciences, public administration and also in business administration. These are just some of the disciplines that the economy in Dominica needs to move itself forward,” he said.

Holmes underscored the UCC programs will also help meet Government’s vision to have one university graduate in every Dominican home by 2015.

The UCC programme launch is carded for 4:30 p.m.

Where do we sign up and where’s the website details for us to check out what’s available and the credibility of this institution. Study outside Dominica is becoming increasingly inaccessible and expensive so it would be good to know as much as possible about this UCC.

Is this launching open to the public?
