Keaneau Joseph of the Soufriere Primary School took home the winner’s trophy at the Haliborange/Rotaract Club Spelling Bee competition, which was held at the Arawak house of culture last Saturday.
Keaneau will go on to represent Dominica at the regional competition in St. Kitts, in November.
The elation on Keaneau’s face was there for all to see. He sat proudly holding his winner’s trophy, Haliborange products and gifts. He will also receive a brand new Kindle, while his school will receive a projector.
Kandace Pond of the Grandbay Primary School was the first runner up; Hali Prince of the St. Luke’s Primary School placed second; and Renolya Valmond of the Goodwill Primary School placed third. Each student received a supply of Haliborange products and a range of educational prizes. The students also received a certificate of participation on behalf of their school.
The Rotaract Club of Roseau extends thanks to all of the sponsors. The Club also hopes to see much more schools participate in next year’s competition.
We are all behind you one hundred and ten percent
Excellent job keaneau keep it up
Congrats Keaneau, you did well. To the Rotaract club and Seven Seas; A kindle? What happened to a computer/laptop as the Grand Prize? A kindle could have done nicely as a 2nd prize. Why did you lower the 1st prize value?
Congrats young man and let me also congratulate Kandace Pond and the other winners for having done a great job.Kandace has taken part in several competitions and won the Creole Spelling Competition earlier this year…she also took part in The DBS Reading Competition and did quite well. Keep it up Kandace…keep the spirit high…you will succeed.

Congratulations Keaneau. You have reason to be elated. You have made your family and your school proud. I visualize that it was no easy matter to get every word correct. You have done it! You must have studied hard. Good luck for the future competition.

good job Keaneau. Congrats Bertillia Peltier….i can see you smiling. See big things can come from little schools. So all those parents taking their children out of soufriere school and sending them to roseau and still not taking the time to help them out, take example on this. Its not all about the teacher stupid, its about you too.
