New windows installed at NECS

New windows at the school

New windows have been installed at the North East Comprehensive School (NECS) according to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.

Senior Planning Officer, Ted Serrant, says the walkway which links the classroom block to the other parts of the school compound has also been covered.

Senior Education officials met with members of the PTA Executive in September to discuss their most pressing concerns about the school’s physical environment, and to outline the ministry’s plan for the continued development of the NECS.

The PTA was assured that works on the windows and walkway would be complete within the first term of the 2012-2013 academic year.

Meanwhile Serrant has also confirmed that work is ongoing on the construction of a core-house at the Morne Prosper Primary School.

Isn’t there even one business entity in Dominica that can obtain the funds or work out an agreement to take control of the Dominica Electricity Services? or are they all too busy criticizing everything to see the opportunity.

It is a shame that the school after over 12 years have not been completed. Even with these new windows the school is still incomplete. The school was opened with old furniture, so I hope that they will put some new furniture there too. All the money to complete that facility was available in the year 2000. DLP deliberately neglected that school which they met well on the way when they came into office in 2000. The government sabotaged the project until they were forced to open it in the unfinished stage which it is still at. They just need to complete the facility in comprehensive manner not in this piece meal way that we are seeing it is been done now.

It was about time… the students have nothing to do with “taking care of the windows” IMHO…they are kids, what you expect from them??? if the principal and those charged with the responsibility of maintaining ORDER in the school cannot do so, then they need to GO HOME…I hate when ADULTS blame CHILDREN for their shortcomings. In my old alma mater your broke something, YOUR PARENTS were duly informed and made to PAY for it… So what’s different at the NECS???

never mind! lets blame the kids.

This was one of the most resently built school, I was disappointed to hear of the amount of vandalism being done to the school. I would like to know who was responsible for these vandalism, was it the parents or the students?

Parents/students,I am unable to come up with a motive for these vandalism. people should learn to cherish what they have.

it is rather shameful to see what had become of such a beautifully constructed school, i hope this time the students will take care of the windows. the only ones that suffer is you.

    Yes, new windows are installed!

Nonetheless if that is in reference to the Secondary School in Wesley, why change the color of the paint?

The original color in my opinion looked much better, certainly it would look ridiculous to paint it Red, nevertheless, I do not believe that the color blue represented the UWP which built it in the first place!

How many sides does the building have we are only shown one side in the picture.

Nothing the Government do wont please you. When the news first broke out some month ago you bash the Government left right and center. Now the job is completed your issue now is the color of the paint. Please miss Telemaque dont let politics get the better of you, but support nation building.

      • November 29, 2012

When you dont allow the people to submit different options you are not keep thing in tact Govt refuses to give the public a say in everything that’s important to them , students as well as the villagers should decide what colour they would like you would be surprised . I love both red and blue but that’s doent mean I support either parties quite the uppersit.

Please note that Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque is not a ” Miss! ” I am born a man, I am still a man I have not yet change my orientation, therefore I am not an aunty-man, transvestite nor homosexual. Yvonne Dodds Robin gave birth to four daughters, and three Sons.

I the bad, the notorious, the dangerous is the only one of her Sons left alive along with the first born of my mother Marie who is yet alive.

My brother Police Inspector, the late was gunned down on the island of Antigua, shortly after that my brother Joel was ran over on the island of Guadeloupe while riding home from work on his motor cycle, sister Josette died when she was less than two years old, so too is my twin sister who’s face I never saw since she expired when we were both infants in some cradle!

My sister Barbara died at the beginning of this year!

And don’t think you can take advantage of me, cause you think because is only two of us from me mother remaining eh, cause I got at leas seven brothers and sisters me papa Hector left behind with me!

Now you have my complete history, say I told you, and I also wish to inform you that I gave my cousin Gloria Dods (Dodds) Shillingford hell because I believe she should share the blame for the dilapidated, state in which we found it recently.

And I do believe in a democracy I have my constitutional right to speak out about anything that is wrong in the country of my birth. I could care less who is in power, wether I like, or prefer who rules, my duty as a citizen of Dominica is to voice my opinion, and the politics of the day has nothing to do with me.

I could care less about the politics.

        I am yours truly;

The bad and dangerous kid from the same mud of Wesley.

Note: I am the badest beast alive oui!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

This looks like “red” to you? Well I think that you are colour blind or you should remove your wooden glasses Mr. Francisco Telemacque as you might say the sea and the sky are “red”

      • November 30, 2012

I did not say the building is painted Red eh!

I said it would be ridiculous if it was painted Red.

By that I mean the Labor Party thought it would be too obvious, too political if they had slapped on a coat of red paint on the building, and if they did I would have to ask Gloria how she could allow Petter to do that.

I suppose that is the only reason it is not paint red oui!

However, I believe they change the color from Blue to that mud clay color simply to take away the glory from the UWP who built it!

Now if you agree with me let your opinion be heard.

I’m with you gell-o, but couldn’t just give you a thumbs up like I would have like to.

I see this as neither news nor an achievement. It’s a government owned school so gov’t is responsible for its upkeep. What is the big deal?!

      • hmmm
        November 29, 2012

another idiot! It’s a big deal because it has been in the news based on the fact that the windows were damaged etc.

Now that the work is complete, you don’t want to know? I bet you would want to know if the PTA had staged another protest because the works had not been done.

They really say you cannot please (black)Dominican people.
