Several secondary and primary school students from the Roseau catchment area braved the rain this morning to participate in an anti-drug march in observance of Drug Awareness Month.
The march, which was expected to bring together over 400 students from four primary and secondary schools respectively, is the final march for the month.
A community outreach at the Roseau Market and an anti-drug march in the community of Petite Savanne along with a candle light vigil in the village of Coulibistrie on Sunday will bring the curtains down on the month of activities.
Meantime, Director of the National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit Jacinta Bannis is reporting a very fulfilling month of activities.
“We covered about 90% of our activities and the theme was well received. I want to thank all our stakeholders who contributed to the activity,” she said.
The month of activities were recognized under the theme “Responsibility, the Key to being Drug Free”.
