Reading competition continues today after ‘impressive’ start

The third annual D.B.S Radio/Ministry of Education reading competition moves into day two today, after what organisers describe as an impressive start on Tuesday.

The activity was launched in 2007 to stimulate a greater interest in reading particularly among Dominican students. Last year, countries of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States joined in the effort.

Eleven will participate in the competition in Marigot today as round one gets underway.

Eight competed in Portsmouth yesterday from which five were chosen for the next round.

“Certainly it was an improvement over the last year. This year they came better prepared,” said Coordinator Felix Henderson.

The final segment of the competition will be held in Grenada this year.

So if one phase was held in Portsmouth Yesterday, how is today’s phase in Marigo still round 1? What am I missing here?

Secondly, not even a mention of the schools and winners from yesterday, and the schools participating today?
