Thieves target Operation Youth Quake

Directors of the Operation Youth Quake are expressing concerns about frequent burglaries at the institution.

Deputy Director Marie Louis said the actions are seriously affecting the work of the organisation. She made the remarks while receiving a donation from the National Development Foundation of Dominica.

“They broke and opened there before the Christmas season. Right now we cannot do any work because they took everything. They took our computers…they just took, so right now this is coming at an opportune time..” she said.

What I cannot understand is that if the public is clearly in an
uproar about the recent surge in crime why is it that the public
Officials appionted by the people taking the necessary steps to
Address the crime increase. BY NO means am I dissatisfied with
The prime minister but he has to step up and address the actions
His taking to stop this nonsense instead of discussing projects that
Are going to be completed in 2011. And dno I still wating on some
Pics and info of dominicans working on these projects

This is a shame that someone or some people would steal from an organization that is set up to help needy children. Replacing the computers and other equipment that was stolen will not solve the problem. Crime is a serious problem in Dominica. Individuals need to protect their property. An organization like this should most likely put in place a security/alarm system to serve as a deterrent to crime. In addition, or in place of an alarm system, have a security officer after hours; someone to patrol the grounds.

How to decrease these incidents of crime in Dominica? Name calling, playing the blame game, does not help. There needs to be a serious conversation about job creation. When people are engaged in gainful employment they are less likely to engage in criminal behavior. People who are employed pay taxes that are used to improve the standard of living. Without an emphasis on job creation, we will continue to be plagued by all these problems.

This is nonsense. Time to get real serious about crimes in Dominica. Time to have the surveillance cameras in place at all places like these. Alarms and the like too, There are too many lazy young people just waiting to steal from anyone and anywhere. Amend the laws too.

Are you for real? “…DA WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT UNTIL THE EVOLUTION OF Q95 AND BETWEEN YOU AND ME…” Is that really correct? Between you and me, please get serious! I mean, come on!

    Heaven help us all.

Woman with a vision , the question is are YOU serious. Da was nothing like what…..Lady please. With “development” comes a price. Nothing comes for free. So when we want development, things are going to change. Besides, lots of young strappy men who should be working are not for lots of reasons. It’s their minds leading them to do that. Everybody has a choice. If you weak minded well, that’s your boat then sail it. Q95 and Between You and Me to blame.
please have a doctor assess your vision.. I think it may be blurry.

TAKING FROM THE NEEDY TO SATISFY THE GREEDY

    • haitianbabes
      January 17, 2011

that my friend is so true, and it is the greedy that is causing all the problems, because the thieves have no place to put the stuff, so they have to sell it to the greedy, but if the greedy don’t buy then they won’t steal, we may say is a habit, but the greedy paying dem to keep the habit, so u see what is happening, is that, the lazy is suppling them cheapy, because they won’t go by courts and pay big money, but dem man selling cheap so they take it, so sad, at the end of the day we ending up with so much more delinquent and useless young people on the street.one day the lazy will find no where else to steal but to go by the greedy, and they will find out, then they will say the police not doing nothing.

    • Dominichey
      January 15, 2011

You stupid wanna be. If someone really wanted to who this is it would be very simple. Thou you may be using Garraway hotels free wireless service, the MAC address of your machine would be registered in the router that services you. A forensic analyst can figure you out in minutes. Try understanding TCP/IP before you post stupid statements on sites. Argh you men of small brains.

You shouldn’t have said anything. I would have traced ther person anyway and allow the authorities to fine them even if the have to make something up to fine them for.

please do not kill, just shot in order for the police to meet the person on the property.
if you do not have time make sure you cought them on the camera.

Electronic video surveillance is not admissible in Dominica courts. Digital camera footage can be manipulated.
