Congrats Shanda, job well done.
CONGRATULATIONS young lady keep it up
Light Christian Academy is a private school located in Akinson.
They are doing very well. They were one of the top schools for the Common Entrance.
This is a very good move by Felix Henderson to start that contest. It was reported that the most literate people were the Bajans. With this competition our percentage of literate people will rise. This augurs well for the future. I hope the winner will be invited to the book Fair coming up.
Congrats to all. You ALL are winners

On behalf of the other parents I would like to thank Mr. Felix Henderson for his hard work with the children through out this event. I would also like to thank the staff of the Lighthouse Christian Acedemy the kalinago community and all the other supporters who encouraged shanda and family along the way. Congrats to these youths, their parents and teachers. Keep up the good work. Blessings.
A winning bunch, congrats Mallet J and pioneer prep you’ve done well.soon my daughter will join you guys.Excellent teachers!
But that child didn’t learn to read in that school!!!!
Is it meeting its objectives? Yes say the organizers. We have two major concerns in the primary schools, reading and maths. For these competitions, the best readers are the ones who participate in the competition. They will continue to be on top and excel academically. Now what happens of the majority of the others who cannot read, do not like to read, do not have an organized reading program at thier school, do not ave the support of parents and teachers to encourage reading? I would personally like to get involved in a program to help that group of children and congratulate those who are already reading well.
very good little ones. you all have done well. you make us proud.
Congrats to Ms Francis, her parents, teachers and school -Light House Academy. You do a wonderful job! Continue to guide and lay the excellent foundation for our future generations.

As a Dominican living overseas I am pleased to read about the success of our young students. Stories like these warm my heart because these students are the future of our beloved country. Education is the key on being successful in this tough economy.
