Director of the Social Justice and Peace Committee Father Franklyn Cuffy says the opening of CHANCES in Dominica is a step in the right direction.
CHANCES, a place for children at risk in Dominica, was officially opened last week.
Father Cuffy says this is good news for troubled youths in the country.
“CHANCES is saying there is an opportunity to help youth at risk and the fact that the home is now opened, we need to thank those who helped make it happen.” he said.
Father Cuffy said Dominica needed a place like CHANCES.
“It gives us hope and it raises the consciousness that there is a need to help the young people,” he said.
Certainly, a wonderful opportunity for youth at risk of failure to get back on their feet. No matter what circumstances led them to CHANCES, they can rise beyond those challenges and move on to be successful adults. This is truly good news for our children and for our country in general.
