Eight contestants to vye for the title of Carnival Princess 2024

Eight young talents, representing various primary schools across the island, are set to bring a mix of grace, charisma, and exuberance to the stage of the 2024 Carnival Princess Show.

The organizers of the show, The Rotaract Club of Roseau, officially introduced this year’s contestants to the public.

They include:

Contestant #1 Acquiera Benjamin

 

Acquiera Benjamin, designated as Contestant Number One, is set to represent Concord Primary School in this year’s competition.

Contestant #2 Najanee Euzebe

Following her will be Najanee Euzebe, Contestant Number Two, who will proudly represent Sineku Primary School.

Contestant #3 Ijnanayah James

Contestant Number Three for this year is Ijnanayah James, who will represent St. Martin Primary School.

Contestant #4 Deanna Jacob

Deanna Jacob, as Contestant Number Four, is poised to represent Wills Strathmore Stevens Primary School.

Contestant #5 Tahylar Xavier

Next up is Tahylar Xavier, identified as Contestant Number Five this year, who will proudly represent Pioneer Preparatory School.

Mirielle Blanchard, Contestant Number Six, will represent Convent Preparatory School.

Representing Wesley Primary School will be Contestant Number Seven, Shadissa Walsh.

Contestant #8 Catalina Bougouneau

The final contest (Number Eight)t will be Catalina Bougouneau who will be representing the Woodford Hill Primary School

The current reigning Carnival Princess, Najah Georges from Thibaud Primary School, clinched the coveted title in 2023. At just 11 years old, Najah wowed the judges and the audience alike, securing the awards for the best costume and the People’s Choice Award during the competition.

This year’s Carnival Princess Show is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, at the Carnival City, Windsor Park Stadium.
