For the first time in the history of the Ms. Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant a new feature will be added to the production. Organizers say the event will be hosted in two parts, one will be held in Sugar City St. Kitts and the other will be held on Queen City Nevis. The disclosure was made by Pageant Chairperson Ms. Hazel Francis.

In its 6th year, the show will be held under the theme “Bridging the Gap, One Caribbean, One People” in keeping with the pageant organisers quest to offer two island one paradise. According Francis the show which has been held on Nevis will showcase the participant’s skills.

“Contestants will rip the runway in a classy and teasing Swim suit Competition to be staged in sister island St. Kitts on Saturday July 23rd at the Carnival Village. We would take the show back to Nevis for the powerful and exciting Talent Competition where beauty and brains will clash in top notch performances,” she said.

Pageant organizers are hoping that the new format will seek to better market the event in the Federation and across the Caribbean.

“Not only would it give the Caribbean ambassadors an opportunity to savour the tourism and cultural aspects of both islands but it would equip them with the information necessary to promote our Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. It will also provide sponsors and patrons on St. Kitts a chance to meet, greet, mix and mingle with the contestants,” Francis explained.

This year the show has attracted heightened interest from the region. Francis disclosed that 15 countries had already accepted the committee’s invitation to participate in this year’s pageant. The countries are Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and British Virgin Island, Montserrat, St. Maarten, current title holder-Anguilla, St. Croix, Barbados, St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and St. Johns.

When asked what the contestants stood to benefit apart from the wining trophies, gifts and cash prices, Francis stated that the pageant also offers the opportunity for the regional female ambassadors to promote their countries through creative cultural expressions with a unique blend of beauty, talent and intelligence.

In an invited comment in what set the Caribbean Culture Pageant apart from others in the region, Francis opined that “this pageant is unmatched anywhere in the Caribbean and can be described as the most prestigious of all pageants across the region,” she submitted.

To create interest and excitement in this year’s pageant Francis said that the contestant’s names and faces will be released weekly in local newspapers and on social networks. She advised patrons to “keep checking the media for a weekly photo release of our contestants.”

        Vicey,

Why don’t you criticise constructively?? You seem to be an extremely negative person.

Can you please tell readers why you think, the dress that was worn by our reigning queen Jacinta Fagan, on the night of the queen show was horribly?? What about the dress that was horrible?

        We expect answer(s) from you.

        Many thanks in advance
