The New Dimension Theatre’s latest production with the name of the popular adage Never See Come See is an authentic Dominican play which goes down to the depth of our dog eat dog attitude towards each other and highlights the peculiar ways in which we behave and treat each other in typical Dominican situations.
Never See Come See questions our level of love, and loyalty, exposes our grief and demonstrates how we agonise, retort, retaliate at the way certain things happen in certain circumstances.
“Never See Come See” critically examines the habitual situations in which individuals seem to forget who they were before they obtained a new position, or gained wealth or move up the social ladder. It provides opportunity for us to examine notable changes in their attitude towards their friends, family and significant others – change which are so apparent or manifest themselves so overtly that others refer to these individuals as “fresh, up and copperwazon.”
Never See Come See is about love, trust, loyalty, pride, humility and taking advantage of a situation or others to satisfy our own personal ambitions and desires. It shows how what is in the heart can shape our attitude and influence our action.
The play is written and directed by Steve Hyacinth. The cast is made up of five member Donille Blackmoore, Clive Artwell, Giselle Hyacinth, Trisha Boston and Julien Lloyd Benjamin.
The play will be staged at the Arawak House of Culture on Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19, 2010 at 8:00pm. ickets cost $25.00, can be obtained from Bullseye Pharmacy.
Come enjoy our 29th production and we look forward to your continued patronage.
