Annette Bates of Mahaut is the 2012 Madam Wob.
She outperformed four other contestants in the second Madam Wob Dwiyet show which was held at the Arawak House of culture on Friday night (October 19th ).
Bates received the award for best talent.
Edith Toussaint of Toucarie, placed 1st. She got the award for best in wob dwiyet.
The second runner up position went to Cecilia Esprit of Laplaine.
The other two contestants were Edris Fevrier of Grand Bay and Gertrude Charles of Grand Fond.
The contestants were judged in two rounds; talent and wob dwiyet.

good show ..Miss Bates won her crown…the lady from Toucarie was wonderful in her won, just her talent could have been a little longer, it stopped too abruptly..show was good on a whole…lady from La Plaine peformed well too…
edith, i was at the show and it was well judged. you did your best. congrats.
however, annete deserved her place.but you all enjoyed you all selves and this was the best part of it.

My sentiment as well. The show is a Madam Wob Dwiyet. And someone getting the best in Wob Dwiyet not getting the title, leaves me baffled. Getting the title, for best talent? Is this a talent show or Wob Dwiyet. It is also the first for me to see someone get best in Dwiyet, yet did not emerge the winner. Everything inside out. The Judges seems to be looking the other way.

You have a point, but it’s the overall points that count to determine the winner
Overal point in what, Only the talent and dwiyet rounds were judged. Unless all you took into account the person who could make tha crowd laugh more, a a person who was the crowd’s favourite. Don’t give me that crap about overall points when there were only 2 segments judged. What you trying to say is that talent carries more point than the Wob? Strange, but still not suprised.

They were judged on 2 performances. Maybe the best in wob dwiyetet was not the best in talent. now have to see what was the difference in points. However congrats to these grown ladies. can wait to reach that age to be part of it.

there is also talent, poise, and presentation that whole combination score
it should be so, if only is the wob they are taking part in, but there was the talent part and sometimes a person might pull more point than the other in certain categories. Ms Bates did have a great talent, and Ms Toussaint just did a short talent. If only she had done two more songs to the one she played on the tambale she would have won. she was great in her wob, and walked and carriedit the best, but her talent section was not strong enough to pull her as the winner. I was there and know about it.

This was a Wob Dwiyet Show, NOT a TALENT show. Don’t get it twisted. And a talent lasting 18 minutes? this is outrageous. All the ladies did a wonderful job, but let’s not turn our heads away from the point. The talent was ot the HIGHLIGHT of the show. It never will be, especially in a Wob dwiyet show.
And the Dwiyet caries more points than talent. Madame wob talent was 18minutes when it should have been 4minutes
