Band leaders and controversial magistrate to speak on crime at Bath Estate

Magistrate Behanzin

Fete La Coudre activities are continuing in Bath Estate with a youth panel discussion tonight.

Chairman of the Bath Estate Development Committee Lindsay George says Magistrate Tiyani Behanzin is expected to form part of panel discussion.

“A number of other law enforcement officials and members of the Drug Prevention Unit are expected to be at the panel discussion. We have also invited some of the popular band leaders to come on board so that the youth could hear what they have to say about crime,” he said.

According to George, the panel discussions will very interesting.

“Prominent members of Bath Estate have also been invited to tonight’s event.  The whole idea is to connect with the youth and the situation of today. We are also hoping to give example on how the youth could excel on their own,” he added.

The panel discussion will be held under the theme: Drugs Crime the Law and You.

The event will take place at the Calypso House in Bath Estate from 7 p.m.

Magistrate Behanzin is a very respectable man. I applaud him for his work. I appreciate his contribution to the Dominican society and whenever he speaks i feel oblidged to pay attention… He made a generous intellectual contribution to the recent BTC graduation ceremony and it is my hope that the youth of the day continue to take heed and absorb what will be stated in the panel discussion and by that, their actions from then on would reflect positivity.

DNO I also agree that magistrate Behanzin should not be addresses by such a title. At least he availed himseld himself to talk about the crime situation. We need more magistrates like him in Dominica. He is young, smart and courageous and he deserves more respect.
