Several film makers from around the Caribbean, including Haiti, Trinidad, Cayman Island and Suriname among others are currently on island participating in the Third Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase.
Film Commissioner at the Discover Dominica Authority, Anita Bully said that the festival is intended on showcasing the work of film makers and audio visual professionals in the Caribbean.
“We want to portray the realities of our region, showcase how we live as a Caribbean people and in the process counteract western media and give a more balance view to television viewers,’ Bully indicated.
Bully advises Dominicans to turn out in support of the activity which take place every night this week from 7 pm at the Alliance Francaise building.
Too bad there was no outreach to film-makers from Dominica…hopefully next year???????????
