Carnival committee promises to pay up this year

Chairman of the Carnival Development Committee Alwin Bully has given the commitment that the organization will fulfill its commitment and make prizes available to those who have won.

The Road Committee announced the winners of the 2010 Real Mass celebrations and there have been concerns that some 2009 winners have still not gotten their prizes.

But Bully told a press conference on Monday that “we are very confident that we will be giving the prizes that have been announced this year. I know there are one or two areas left over from last year and we are still working on those. We have every intention. It is quite possible that we are able to award those prizes as part of our presentation this year”.

Bully said the Committee is trying its best to settle what is outstanding.

“We are trying to get them out of the way. We would like to get rid of it and make sure everyone gets paid and satisfied,” he said.

A case of hanging your hat where your hand cannot reach. Shouldn’t these prizes or monies be available prior to the competeitions taking place?

They had better pay persons and bands of the previous years before they pay this year. This is an outrage. I have been taking part in carnival with Go Girls for a number of years now and I was dissapointed that they did not have a band this year, only to find out they have not finished paying the group yet! This is rediculus and we are saying that we are trying to promote Costume Bands. Well well well! We really need to rethink Carnival seriously
