The Office of the President is pleased to announce, on behalf of The President’s Charities Foundation, the Annual Children’s Christmas Party being held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Charles A. Savarin and Mrs. Clara J. Savarin.

The Children’s Party will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2015 on the grounds of the State House, Victoria Street, Roseau, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The Children’s Party generally targets underprivileged children between the ages of 5 and 12 years on regional basis.

Owing to special circumstances brought about by Tropical Storm Erika, this year’s event will again be held on the grounds of the State House and will target three hundred and twenty-four (324) primary school children from the communities that were declared Special Disaster Areas, namely Petite Savanne, Petite Soufriere, San Sauveur, Good hope, Coulibistrie, Colihaut, Pichelin, Dubique, Boetica, Delices, Campbell and Paradise Valley Bath Estate.

Last year, 281 children between the ages of 4 and 12 in the Roseau Catchment Area were entertained. The aim of the Christmas Party is to enhance the well-being and joy of our less fortunate junior brothers and sisters during the Christmas Season. The children will have a fun filled experience and will eat and drink, whilst playing games, amid carols and hymns. They will also receive gifts from Santa Claus.

Some of the sponsors supporting this year’s Children Party include the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China; Ross University School of Medicine; the AID Bank, Scotia Bank, Dependable Cleaners & Company Limited; Office of the National Authorizing Officer/EDF; DARDA Toy Drive; Josephine Gabriel & Company Limited; Springfield Trading and A.C. Shillingford & Co.

The Office of the President is further pleased to announce that this year we will be graced by the distinguished presence of the newly elected Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Baroness Patricia Scotland, who looks forward to spending time and sharing in the joy of Christmas with the children.
