Dominica participates in inaugural MMTS in Bahamas; captures several awards

July 12th through 17th saw the successful inaugural kick off of the Music, Model and Talent Showcase of the Islands (Island MMTS) in the Bahamas.

Nineteen islands/countries took part in the hopeful life-changing event and Dominica was well represented.

The island MMTS Team Dominica represented well with two of the top three awards in the Junior category for Solo Singers being copped by the Nature Isle’s Janae Jackson and Carsim Birmingham in third and second place respectively.

Petite model Shivaughn Johnson did her fair share of representation with winning three of the six categories which she entered! Second place of top three in Commercial Print, and Beauty Spokesmodel- Third place in Monologue!

The entire team got Agent Call-backs and the process of a new level begins for each delegate to prepare for the prospects ahead. The exposure had very good dual purpose serving both individual and country.

The Dominican brand could surely have had more impact and we expect that this showcase shall be budgeted for by the Discover and Invest Dominica in a more prominent manner, from which Dominica would emerge an over all winner, by capturing the Parade of Nations event award.

This inaugural MMTS event was heavily supported by the Bahamian government led by the Prime Minister and his cabinet.

Island MMTS continues to be heavily supported by regional C-PAF, Inc. And we may see a more integrated partnership as season two opens.
