Dominican group Symplz to record with US based label

Symplz Music Group

Dominican music group Symplz, is set to release its first professional album in June this year with an American based record label called Aquagem records.

“The group has been together for over five years doing hip/r&b and reggae which is not one of Dominica’s most talked about genre(s).” says Kade Augustine, a Symplz member who’s also a producer and director in the group.

The five member group also includes Darnil Pierre Louis, Damian Mathew, 2011
Q Talent Search Winner, Asher Thomas and Jeffery Paul who also produces. They are all from the northern village of Paix Bouche.

The group was featured on DNO some years ago when they did their first video called “Grind.”

Augustine says the group has since released many other singles and a demo album but they are now completing their first “professional” album.

“The album will be published world wide through Aquagem records but in order for us to make a mark in our field we need Dominican support.” the young musician explains.

He urges Dominicans to “spread the word about this talented music group from Dominica. Add us on facebook.com/symplz, like our band page, view our locally made videos on youtube, like comment and share with friends.”

Augustine points out that “to help a Dominican music group, you dont necessarily have to spend a cent, though when the album is out we would like it to be purchased by many but just by introducing our group and music to other(s) we can do big things.”

He says the group has just released a new music video which he directed, called “Like We Lovers”.

“We would like DNO to feature this video on its site, you know when DNO brings it every body sees it” affirms the Symplz producer.

The boys are doing something positive so please dont hesitate to give them credit. Asher in particular started off small and he is making waves. The others have the potential to go far with a positive attitude remember. Cariman here is something to shout about.
Paix-Bouche has always been doing well culturally and will continue to do well because the talent is nutured from small.
Have you seen Marsha’s video on Youtube. the girl looks hot. Jean Paix-Bouche massive too .Talent reign supreme, go girls and gals make us prouc.

No disrespect I’m a recording engineer for def jam, I don’t think these guys ready for the U.S market. I think they need to work on there accent. I must say the music is good though.

    • hmmm
      April 23, 2012

so if you are part of such a label Def Jam Records, and as i see you are unto dominica news online page which shows you have some relation to domnica why not play your part and come work around with Dominican groups and our music to get it to the standards and work to pushing Da groups towards That label? sometimes i sit and wander if we are made for critics or are we willing to help a hand? we Dominican musicians are looking for a helping hand not words on a website that we dont have time to go to and read instead we are up in the studio trying to make it happen for Dominica.

      April 23, 2012

Are you clear? what accent you looking for USA?

NO man we are Dominicans lets get it on. WE can sing reggue but not like those in JA they may be singing but what sells is there accent so lets begin to accept and trade.

      May 22, 2012

I agree with Anonymous! They are not ready for the US Market! My high school homies” F.L.Y.” Had to work hard to make into Def Jam! Anyway The songs are cool but they definitely have to work on their accents! If you looking for real talent pay close attention to this years 2012 QTS!!! From The ATL Tryna make a statement! Def Jam keep yo eyes OPEN!!!
