Thirty-five years of vintage calypso highlighted this year’s calypso feature at the WCMF.
Calypsonians, Bobb, Hunter, Tasha P and reigning monarch, Dice on the last day thrilled the audience with classics from former calypsonians such as De Ency and Rabbit.
Entertainment Hot Spot (EHS) got some feedback on video from the calypsonians afterwards.
Watch video below.
Daddy Chess sang as well and did a great job…they all did
I thought it was a good gesture giving the calypsonians a sports at wcmf. they did a fantastic job.
creole festival is for cadence, carival is for calypso
and u not for DNo with ur lame comments
Boy , that was proper.Thumbs up to the organizers.
I was at the show, and did not appreciate how DICE and Hunter sang the vintage songs, they mumbled the words. It appeared that they did not know the words. I was so excited about the calypso and had a visiting friend and wanted him to hear our calypso, but my excitement turned into disappointment. With the exception of Tasha P and Daddy Chest the others were not impressive. They blew a great opportunity to showcase their best to the world. I am a DICE fan and his performances upsetted me the most, the songs we good, but the singing or “talking” was poor, I must say the sensay presentation was good though.
PS Bobb was great as usual. Thanks Bobb
