Fifty-nine-year-old Reggae sensation Gregory Isaac has passed away.
Reports are that the Jamaican singer, who is best known for the hit single “Night Nurse”, died this morning after a long battle with cancer.
He died at his home in London. Isaac was also known as ‘Cool Ruler’.
According to Wikpedia.com, Isaac was born on July 15, 1951.
Cool Ruler, You were the man. No party was ever complete without you music. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. I know God is pleased with you…….you brought happiness to many lives through your music.

@HIS ROYAL HIGNESS EZE OBOYO: i have been observing how some of these reggae and rasta singers are dying and in my mind something is definitely wrong,i think it is the life they live.Smoke,drugs and their belief in a man rather than the true and living GOD of creation.

Bree,
I like your statements theya re very true to his songs you have echoed it nicely.
Myself and my siblings were a true and dedicated follower of Gregory Isacs music. We have several Albums and Cds of his. I last went to see him at the Stratford Reck here in London , Cocoa Tea was also on stage.
Gregory , was due to have concerts here and also in Europe, but he was taken ill, which of course I knew. I am very, very sad to hear of his demise and peace be unto him. He has left a legacy behind.
Jack Pedro
Gregory will continue to live on through his music. He is my all time favorite singer – I just love his cool style.

@Truth, Justice, Love and Peace:
I posted my comment against that insultive commentator before I read yours. But I agree with you.
I love the music and the singing voice of Gregory Isaac, much more than all the others, including Bob Marley; but I have no idea what kind of heart and mind he existed with throughout his days in this world. Hence I cannot say that “I hope” for a good outcome at the resurrection; because hope is faith, which means assurance. As Christians we should live with the hope of Eternal Life in the presence of God.
This means that we are certain (assured) that we will spend Eternity if the presence of God, in the place I like to call Paradise. But our assurance comes from the fact that we accepted the suffering, death, and ressurection of Jesus Christ, as we claimed and practice the Life of Love in Him, by our faith. But you said that Gregory did not believe in Jesus Christ. Neither did Peter Tosh.
“Faith is the substance of things hope for”. Hebrews 11: 1 The mistake we make is to use the word, “Hope” as if we are not sure, but we would like that things happen as we wish for it to happen.
Gregory is now dead, we cannot speak any word of hope for him now, because he cannot accept our substance of hope for him, from God, neither can God manifest that hope in him, now that he does not exist in the body. But those of us who knew him and his lifestyle, can only live with the belief on his behalf, that God’s mercy and compassion for his weakness and ignorance, remained with him all the days that he existed. That is the reason for God’s nature, Love.
Sorry guys! My Internet Explorer browser is not working; I cannot check for spelling mistakes.
@BRING M YOUNG:
The person spoke nothing of profanity. The man died of cancer; he was quite young. Everyone knows that he smoked weed. I believe he nurtured death, not Life; his outcome proves that truth.
You smeared (used verbal insult) at him/her, who is alive, in your defence on behalf of a man who is now dead. So how are you better?
It would have been a more decent thing to do if you had just given him/her a thumbs down. By telling the world how you felt about his/her opinion, in such a manner, you also disgraced yourself.
I was born i jamaica , st.andrews and from i was a little boy growing up i use to lisen to the gregory , To is family may god shower you with love and blessings and to you gregory good jurney, one love my brother one love. as long as i live i will never for get you. blessed.

A single tear came out from my eyes. This guy’s music has meant a lot through out the years. Not just Jamaica, but the entire world has lost a beautiful soul.
I will always remember that summer when I was obsessed with ‘Danger in Your Eyes”. It will always be my favourite song of Gregory’s.
this man gave us some great hits he shall surely be missed ,thank u Gregory May God Bless you and may your Soul Rest in Peace .
Jamaica has lost another son.
@BRING M YOUNG:
Why are you calling the person “A Jackass”? Such a language should not be accepted on DON.
Why can’t you agree to disagree amicably? Speak your mind, your truth and fairly and offer your opinion but do so respectfully.
“Anonymous” is correct. It is not profaning the dead but stating the truth.
When I saw his picture and his age I had the identical thought. It is obvious that he was a rastafarian and he smoked weed. They call it their religious right to do so.
Smoking weed, cannabis, cocaine and the likes could lead to early demise and in most cases than less they do.
Fear profaning God rather than one who is dead.
Rastafarians worship Haille Selassie as their God, a man whom God created and a soul that was judged by God. They do not worship The One and Only True God.
Every living person must worship The One True God. When they die their souls will be judged by God.
I hope that God had mercy on his soul. When people are sick God gives them the opportunity to pray to Him, to ask His forgiveness and to make amends in the form of prayer with a humble and contrite heart. I hope that he asked God forgiveness while he was sick and nearing his end on earth. I also hope that he received God’s graces and enlightenment to do so.

I CALL HIM THE LOVE DOCTOR
I love his music from a child. He is gone but his music will live on for generations to come.
R.I.P bro.
SUCH A LEGENDARY MAN WITHIN JAMAICAN MUSIC! Hopefully some of his eleven children are musical so that his legacy can live on, and we can hear him sing with his children elecronically like Natalie and Nat King Cole did. For real ‘Quiter’ Mr Isaac’s was too young to die at his age. That’s why you must live evryday to your fulliest potential and don’t take the life you have for granted. People make sure to live life and spend more quality times with your parents.
@Anonymous: To Annonymous YOU are a real JACK ASS, the man is dead .
If you have nothing positive to say why profane the DEAD
only if gregory had a chance 2 have his music echo thru our canyon…its always so beautiful 2 hear reggae chime thru the canyon walls…RIP…thank u 4 all the beautiful songs…
R.IP Mr Issac another BLACK icon… you’ll be missed but your music will forever accompany us.
I saw Gregory for the very first time at Anguilla’s Moon splash Festival this year. It was a privilege to see the reggae icon on stage doing his “thing” and showing the youngsters how to rule the stage while keeping cool, calm and collected.
He was indeed the “cool ruler” and although he could not perform in the way he truly intended due to his illness, Moon Splash patrons all agreed that he added a special touch to the festival.
Gregory…we love you and we will indeed cherish the memories. We are all here for a reason and a season and I believe your purpose was to make our world a bit gentler and smoother with your sweet God given soothing voice. You brought us much joy. We sympathize with your family and friends and your fans all over the world say farewell; and thanks for the music and the memories. May the Angels carry you on to glory.
“after you made our day, sad to know that you’re going away…real sad to know that you’re leaving.”
The best reggae artist after Bob Marley. You will be missed Bro but your music will still be appreciated long after you’re gone. like brother BOB, you have made your mark on this world.
