Hallie Bruney, Miss DSC Mas Jamboree 2019

Hallie Bruney, from Thibaud, has been judged worthy of the crown at DSC MAS Jamboree which was held on Wednesday evening.

Bruney picked up the prizes for Miss Photogenic, Best in Runway, Best in Evening Wear, Best Thematic Wear and Best Response to Question.

Bruney said she is excited to have won this year’s Mas Jamboree.

“I was nervous thought-out the entire thing but I’m really glad for the outcome..it was a roller coaster … it was a lot of hard work,” she remarked.

She attributes her win to confidence and push from her team.

She also gave advice to young people as well as those who wish to take part in pageantry.

“For young people, find something to motivate you and stick to it. You have a goal, stick to it.” she advised. “Take it easy, build your confidence and you have to have confidence. If you don’t have confidence you don’t have anything,”

Bruney’s platform represents proper waste disposal and plans on going to various Primary and High schools to educate students on the proper management of waste disposal and help them use what they’ve learnt in creating different projects.

She plans to study Information Technology and Entrepreneurship and to contest for Miss Dominica in the future.

Burney thanked her sponsors and her team.

The 1st runner up was Kristel Ferrol while Le Sean Bellot took the 2nd runner up position.

Kristel Ferrol walked away with the awards for People’s Choice Awards,  Best Swimwear, Best in Swimwear and Best Evening Wear, Sheraine Mills got the award for Best Performing Talent and Le sean Bellot for Miss Amity.

To all the contestants, great job. It takes courage to step out on a stage to be judged by every single person who’s watching, including your self.
To the organizers, the decor and stage is very mediocre. I can understand costs but the photos showing the background leaves much to be desired. The stage even looks unsafe. I’m sure if there is greater investment in the level of this production, there will be an increase in the support.

You’re all beautiful, don’t feel sad if you didn’t come first. There can only be one person in that spot, although you all deserved it. Enjoy your youth and beauty.
