HGTV’s House Hunters is always enjoyable and their international version has been even more so…never thought I would see Dominica featured though. What a wonderful surprise and clean feature of our lovely Dominica!

And what great views of the city and Caribbean Sea from the first two houses.. lovely Dominica!

Yup; the house is back on the market; still showing w/ their furniture so it appears since they spent ALL their $$ that they can’t go til it sells. Foolish people.

I enjoyed the show, however, the architects at home need better design ideas and use of space. For $750,000.00 the couple was able to purchase their dream home.

Great show and it featured D/ca in a positive light. Property #2 was probably the best for them but they had to make a decision in a hurry which ruled it out from consideration.
They kids looked nice in their new and pressed uniform.

Just watched it and enjoyed every bit of it.

They picked the best property (I wont mention the price). Reigate (Kings Hill), just a 10 minute walk from me.

Welcome to Kings Hill. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

WHAT THE HECK!! US$700,000.00 FOR A DAMN HOUSE IN D/A THAT’S OVER $1.5 MILLION!!! AND THE LAST HOUSE WAS NOT WORTH THE US$500,000.00 AT ALL!! AM SELLING MY HOUSE FOR US$200,000.00 AND IS 4 BED ROOMS, BATHROOM, LIVING ROOM, KITCHEN, BIG VERONDA, AND NEAR THE BEACH, LESS THAN 10 SECONDS RUN TO THE SEA!! CLEAN BEACH!!!

Great show. Excellent exposure for the Nature Isle.Beautiful houses but yes bit expensive however, that the price for the pictures-tic views, inviting swimming pool and just imagine having a river running through your back yard and picking fresh grapefruit. We are used to paradise, but these people just made their dreams come true.
When we in DA don’t appreciate what we have, other will spend their life savings to get a piece of the pie.
      LOVE YOU DOMINICA

    • Shocked!
      August 28, 2011

I am shocked— 700,000 USD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the average price for property in that area ?

      • FED UP DOMINICAN
        August 29, 2011

Yes the price is very steep. Wouldn’t have thought that there is another property in the area that comes to anything as much as this one (even half as much).

The average person in Dominica could not afford such property, but you have to understand that to them its money well spent. They know that they could never afford a property like that for that price and with that view in the UK.

The average 4 bed detatched house, with pool, mature garden, guest house etc in the UK would be anything from £500,000 (2.1M EC$), and that depends on where in the UK.

A modest 4 bed terrace house in London (no pool, no guest house) is at least £300,000 – £400,000 (1.2M – 1.7M EC$),and that depends on where in London.
