Coordinator of the Q Talent Search (QTS) Jael Joseph has said she is very impressed with the level of talent displayed when the competition got under way this year.
32 singers were selected on Monday night in the closed audition to compete in the quarter final round of the 2013 staging of QTS.
“Usually at the closed audition the judging is very easy because it’s obvious who the top 32 would be,” she told DNO on Tuesday. “But last night the judges had a tough decision at this stage… so it looks like it’s going to be an extremely tough competition. Every participant who made it past this round scored extremely high.”
According to her, the show has grown not only in quality but in the quantity of sponsorship that is received.
She added that better crops of singers are recruited every year. “Persons have been calling to sing because they are really interested in winning the competition,” Joseph noted.
She added that she hopes that the show will grow on a regional level.
“We never intended for QTS to remain only on a national stature we always looked at it as a Caribbean competition,” she stated. “We have already begun to develop relationships with other radio stations across the Caribbean to bring QTS across the Caribbean. We may have to go one radio station at a time.”
The quarter finals are slated for 31 August, 2013 at the Arawak House of Culture.

you mean royette still in that? she’s been in that from the commencement… i think you have outgrown the competition now, time to step aside and just concentrate on your music career outside of the QTS
Give the girl a break.. she loves to sing so she comes back she did not take part last yr however the two years dat she did she made finals. get off the girl back u rather see the persons who return year after year out on the street doing drugs or in jail smh
