Fresh off his victory in this year’s Junior Calypso Monarch show, young calypsonian Lemar ‘The Irish Kid’ Irish, has released a music video for the song which won him the coveted title.

The track, titled ‘I choosing Calypso’ speaks to the young singer’s love for the artform, which led to him to compete for a fourth time in the Junior Calypso competition before finally being crowned King.

Irish represented emerging powerhouse school the St. John’s Academy based in Portsmouth.

The 2014 Miss Teen Dominica, Chari Peter, is also a student of the SJA.

The song was produced by Krishna ‘Dada’ Lawrence of Cotton Grove Studio while the music video was shot by Chevon Ambo of Ambo Visuals and edited by Bertist Jeffers.

Congratulation King Irish Kid. Job well done!
This video is a good initiative in illustrating and elucidating the young artist’s verbal message.
It also presents the artist to an audience that would otherwise just be limited to the audio record.
Congrats Ambo Visual for the initiative and the support you have extended to young talented youths in the districts. Keep up the good work.
I trust that as King Irish Kid continues to Aspire he will in turn inspire other youth to do the same.
