When LIME officially announced its partnership with four-time Calypso King, Dennison ‘King Dice’ Joseph earlier this year, General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste promised to provide opportunities for him to take Dominica’s Calypso to the regional stage.
That promise is already bearing fruit as King Dice leaves state today for St. Vincent to guest perform at the Vinci Mas National Calypso Semi-finals this Friday.
“LIME is the leading telecommunications provider in the region and like Dominica, LIME is the main sponsor for Carnival in many of the territories where we operate, and this provides the ideal opportunity to leverage partnerships and exchange of artists between islands” said LIME’s General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste. “Dice is an exceptionally talented calypsonian whom I am convinced will go to St. Vincent and represent himself, LIME and Dominica well”, he added.
King Dice, a former Junior Calypso Monarch, is the youngest and ONLY calypsonian to win four national crowns and five consecutive road march titles in Dominica’s calypso history. He is set to introduce his music to the Vinci market where he will perform three of his crowning hits, ‘These are the days’ and ‘Minding my Business’ along with one of his upbeat selections. “I’ve always wanted to perform at Vinci Mas and I am happy that LIME is living-up to their promise and giving me that opportunity to go out there and represent for Dominica Calypso” said King Dice.
The National Calypso semi-finals dubbed ‘Fantastic Friday’ will be held this Friday at the La Croix Palletization Center (Boxing Plant) and will feature 22 competitors.
King Dice returns to Dominica on Saturday with his next journey set for Grenada’s Spice Mas Calypso finals in August.
Vinci Mas 2011, ‘The Hottest Carnival in the Caribbean’ runs from June 24th – July 5th.

Congratulatios to King Dice!!! People stop creating problems where there is none. While i must congratulate the Dice, I am kind of disappointed that Tasha P was not included in that trip. After all, she is the reigning Calypso Monarch. It’s been a few years since Dice actually won the crown, so why is all that emphasis being placed on him???

Listen up people of Dominica. Why cant you all be happy that Dominica is even taking part in these competition. Dice was chosen because of experience and knows the stage. Not because someone won the crown ONCE means that they are the one to represent. It could have been a floops. Lime is smart, they want someone with experience, not a rookie.
