Lies Marathon heads to Marigot

lies marathonThe village of Marigot will come alive with Téyat Pawòl’s Lies Marathon this weekend.

Man Does Lie and Woman Can Lie will be staged at Classique International on Friday September 27 & Saturday September 28 from 7:00pm respectively.

This is the group’s second appearance in that North East community and this time they have partnered with Classique International to make this joint venture possible.

Patrons can look out for maximum theatrical entertainment. Laughter will be served up in large quantities, but the message behind the seriousness of deviant ways won’t be lost amidst the laughter. In fact, the humor is used to better project the need for benevolence in the face of such negative societal behaviors.

Alex Bruno, the group’s Administrative Artistic Director says that he is confident that the North East communities will lend his group their support this weekend. He expects that patrons will converge of the venue from as far as Portsmouth in the North to Laplane in the East and beyond.

It is expected that this weekend’s show will excite the fans in that area appetite for more hard-hitting drama. Lies Marathon is the first in a series of events planned for Classique International, and the group announces that its new play ‘Madame President Speaker’ will be staged at Classic International in November 2013. In fact, the group hints that ‘Madame President Speaker’ may actually open in Marigot.

Madam Speaker is a theatrical drama based on actual and fictitious tales of island politics at its very best. The play handles serious politics in unconventional ways.

Téyat Pawòl is one of Dominica’s leading performing arts companies. The group which places attention on youth age individuals and children recently concluded a ‘Theatre Appreciation Workshop’ for over sixty secondary school and college students.

This weekend’s outing is Téyat Pawòl’s thirty third (33) trip away from Roseau, one of its bases. Téyat Pawòl is also based in Florida U.S.A., where it was formed in 2000/2001.
