LIME is tight-lipped over information that one of the headline acts for Creole in the Park (CITP) will not be showing up for the event.
Trinidadian soca star Kerwin Du Bois has posted a note on his Facebook page indicating he will no longer be able to perform at the popular show, leaving many fans disappointed.
But LIME officials made it clear they will not be discussing the matter as yet. “All I can say is that we will be having a press conference on Thursday to address the line-up,” was all Ferdina Frampton, Corporate Communications Manager at LIME, would say.
In the Facebook note entitled “Dominica my apologies-No Creole in the Park,” the soca artiste stated that he will no longer be able to perform at the show since his schedule has made it impossible to fulfill this commitment.
“Much to my displeasure I am writing this note to share the disappointing news of my non-appearance at the 10th Annual LIME Creole in the Park,” Kerwin Du Bois wrote. “while I was excitedly looking forward to interacting with and performing for my Dominican fans my schedule has made it impossible for me to fulfill this commitment.”
The Trinidadian soca artiste is well known in Dominica for his hit song “Bacchanalist” and was scheduled to perform on the third day of the four-day event.
LIME Creole in the Park is scheduled for October 22nd – October 25th. Other main acts for the event include Benjai out of Trinidad and Jamaican dancehall artiste Mr. Vegas.

Have not heard of the line up yet but will check for it. Hope LIME has something special for Jazz fans. Dominica has lots of local talent too.

Well if is a soca artist they want then they can check bunji and Fay Ann. They will get a great show. Also they can check blaxx. This man have hit songs every year. He has been there for a while. My choice would be blaxx.

Dominicans! Please let’s cherish what we have and keep the money in DA for the good of the citizens. Minimize the efforts of shipping Dominicas money overseas. Find an artist from Dominica and pay him big and let the money stay in Dominica. As soon as this guy finished playing at the show he is on the first flight out. OK?

We have so many good Dominican, why not get one of one own. Super L and his wife Paula just received 4 awards in Canada for having the best Creole Band. That is the problem I have with Dominican not being proud of what they have.
Hmmmm disappointed with the way this was done. If you are doing business with a company like that you handle that in a more professional manner. Call Lime and tell them you are unable to come. Posting it on facebook makes no sense and is just totally unprofessional. He is just not serious. Well Lime can get machel montano eh if he is available.

If what he said is true “HEADS have to roll at lime, for this sorry blunder,and so called schduling conflick, that`s not enough, let us have the truth and nothing but the truth”. Such as if and when KEWIN signed and agreed to perform at CITP,obviously a refund must be in order if not a law suit for breach of contract. Wake up Dominica, wake up! the world is watching how we conducting our affairs. Waiting with baited breath to hear lime side of their story.

He probably got a better deal somewhere else (more money)and those of us that asking for Machel sorry to say creole in the park is much to small for Machel, having him here he alone that have to perform and trust me ppl that complaining about price to go to creole in the park will have to pay triple to see Machel…I don’t think the sponsor can handle that…

Didnt know his schedule before he committed himself people dont allow others to take you as fools and did he informed LIME before posting his message on his facebook page I hope Lime will call on someone local to fill the spot and dont approach him for 2013.
if an artist is not paid a deposit when an offer is made to perform and someone else comes in an d books the artist for the same date and pays the deposit the artist has the right to go with the one who paid. Please don’t be so quick to judge d man. i am dissapointed he won’t be there too eh

Never heard of him before but this story caught my attention: Should he have addressed the Public like that?? Something seems wrong about his approach…LIME should be the one reporting to the Public on any changes on their line up. Wow! How embarrassing!
