Local Hip Hop artiste releases single

cmajourA young Dominican hip hop artiste has released a new single which he described as ‘a different style of rap music.’

“Sin City 2” was released by Sean “Cmajour” Cruikshank.

Speaking to Dominica News Online Cmajour indicated that the single is his way of putting a poetic twist to the rap genre.

“I was trying to be a bit poetic since most artistes in Dominica produce songs and they are not poetic. I was trying to be different and explain the various things that we go through in life,” he stated.

He said the new single features a poem in which various aspects of society are explained and calls are made to avoid placing judgement on each other since everyone has a reason for their actions.

He explained that the first verse of the song portrays some of the issues that is encountered in the real world and how he deals with them.

Dwight “Trey-P” Andre, another local hip hop artiste, is also featured on the single. He said his verse describes his current motives and goals in life, and the way he chooses to deal with the issues he may face.

Cmajour noted that although the single is somewhat a remix of an original song by international artist Kanye West, it is for promotional uses only and is only the beginning of what he intends to do.

He called on the public to listen to the song, enjoy it and urged them to continue supporting young local talents.
