Man Does Lie, a Caribbean Play (Comedy) by Alex Bruno is based on one man’s greed and overgrown passion for the opposite sex. The play deals with the sins of infidelity and covetousness committed by a loose older man (Lolo) who is on a rampage for young blood.
Lolo’s deceptive ways eventually catch up with him at a time and place he never imagined. The play which runs for ninety (90) minutes captures the last dramatic unraveling of Lolo’s foolish games.
The play which features an all star CAST of characters from the Caribbean has been showing for the past two years, and has been staged in Hollywood Fl. And Atlanta before its Texas debut on March 31, 2012 at the Stafford Civic Center on 1415 Constitution Avenue, Stafford, TX. 7747.
The Characters are LOLO, played by Emile ‘Pa Ben’ Serrant, ADALA played by Rashida Gachette, Kareen Joseph is MEWO, FERN is played by Kimarah Laurent, Nyamekye Daniel plays FARAH with Mickael Ferrol as LASHING. The play is suited for the general audience and is absolutely entertaining; it is the kind of play that can bring the peoples of Caribbean together and it is expected that the public turns out to this onetime event.
The play is performed by Téyat Powal International, a cultural group which was formed in Florida ten years ago, and enjoys international linkages. The group has performed in Dominica, Antigua, St. Kitts/Nevis, Barbados, Atlanta, New York, Cameroon (Africa) and Hollywood, Fl. Man Does Lie is presented by One Caribbean Culture, in association with the Dominica Houston Association, with support from the St. Lucia Houston Association. The play is the company’s 13th Production.
Tickets cost $25.00 in advance and are available from Dominica Houston Association members and at the following Box Offices: Caribbean Snacks & Produce – Tel No. (281) 427 – 5763 and TATA Afrikan Imports (731) 981 – 6677.

We ardoing a new play in April and May in Dominica, we are Doing St.Thomas at the end of May, Toronto in August,England in October and Antigua in November…all this year. If we can get to work with a local authority or group, we can try and arrange a time for Anguilla in between our schedule.

news
One viewer, from one of the other Caribbean islands, described this presentation as “refreshing, drama with a difference.” I thoroughly enjoyed this production, so I am encouraging Dominicans in Texas to come out in large numbers and see this great production. Bring your American friends too, they will like it.
