As the sun began to set on Monday, May 2nd, 2016, all eyes turned to the stage at the Last Flight Bar and Grill in Marigot.
Partygoers hungry for one last taste of top notch entertainment from international star Michele Henderson and authentic cuisine gathered for the final event before the closing of the 1oth Annual May Festival held in Marigot over the weekend.
The 2016 events began on Friday, April 29th and included a village bar lyme, hike of Segment 7 of the National Trail, Volleyball Festival, Ms. Mayfest Pageant, International Artiste and Bands Night and the final event, the Mayfest Family Funday. The event was organised by the Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) in partnership with several sponsors.
The festival saw the commencement of the reign of Ms. Mayfest, Shermain Eustache, who is expected to represent the festival brand and her home community of Petite Soufriere in her capacity through to 2017 when the host community of Marigot will stage its Reunion activities.
At the pageanet Eustache took awards in five categories while Terissa Baptiste copped the 1st RRunner-up title, Lisa Francis the 2nd Runner Up title and Ausdelle Prince, the 3rd Runner up title.
“The Baron,” born Timothy Watkins, of Trinidad highlighted the International Artiste and Bands night.
The MDC is now in preparation mode for the 10 year Anniversary production of Marigot Reunion in 2017.
Congratulations to the contestants for making this night amazing.. :)… its the first time Petite Soufriere participated in this pageant and she emerged winner. Job well done..
Marigotians are leaders in Dominica, so come on and show us the way to do things. Thanks!
