The six ladies vying for the coveted title of Miss Dominica 2016, will this Saturday evening present themselves to the public in the highly anticipated pre-show event at the Arawak House of Culture.
The pre-show, a mini-pageant presented by The Discover Dominica Authority, Dominica Festivals Commission (DFC), the Queen Show Committee & Carnival headline sponsor FLOW, will be the contestants first opportunity to gauge their preparedness and wet the public’s appetite for next year’s pageant.
Organizers of the pre-show say it is intended to give the Dominican public their first intimate view of the young ladies who will be competing for the 2016 National Queen title fresh on the heels of their memorable village launchings.
Patrons can anticipate an exciting show consisting of four segments, which will mirror the format of the Miss Dominica Pageant set for February 5th, 2016. The ladies will make appearances in casual wear, a one-minute talent presentation, swimwear, and evening wear.
A brief interactive conversation with the Master of Ceremony will complete the nights’ program. Guest performances for the night will feature Golda Scotland Andrew, Jessica Riviere, Edelia Rolle, and Earl White.
The contestants are currently undergoing intense training sessions covering areas ranging from walking, speech and communication. The committee held its photoshoot session on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at the Cools-Lartique Gardens, and was quite a memorable experience for the young ladies. Chairperson of the Queen Show Committee, Romualda Hyacinth has expressed satisfaction with preparations to date for what she anticipates will be an unforgettable Miss Dominica pageant in 2016.
The beautiful young ladies in search of the title are Judy Toussaint – San Sauveur, Mernel Christmas – Campbell, Nawana Shillingford – Loubiere, Britney Pharoah – Grand Bay, Abigale Shillingford – Goodwill and Tasia Floissac – Castle Comfort.
The show which costs $25.00 begins from 7:00 pm at the Arawak House of Culture this Saturday, December 19, 2015.
