Flag wavers does hav poom poom shorts…mercury, carib, digi, all dem…i forget the rest at the moment. i agree…it was wayy to plain this year…tht lookin like sumfin u wud wear anyday…and not for the festive season, carnival. anyway…doh hate on them ppl….every1 hav a choice to what they want to wear. u can cover up n burn up jumpin in the hot sun…and they can show as much flesh as they want…the black devils does b practically naked…even regular jumpers does hav likkle piece of clothes. stop cuss each other and jus enjoy d 2 days of good fete!

This is amazing! Truly amazing how the enemy is busy at work with every one of you on these sites, who are just constantly lashing out at each other over “reveling” “worldly” CRAP. To the young women competing and to every blogger here arguing, and even the LIME models, I share this……
The Holy Bible, 1Corinthians 6:19 – 20 says,

We as a people believe that we must chopp off eah other, call them hypocrite, or make remarks “like they are on thier high horse want to look down on others’, calling each other jealousy. it is time we stop all that evil ways in us. We must make our point or give or ideas and suggestions without trying to put someone in their place, or so we think we can put someone in their place. Let us send our message without giving someone thier whole maapprwe(tell them their whole life story even though we know or don;t know them).
Anyway i wish all dominicans all the best for the new year which has already begin and hope that we as a nation can move forward with a more human respect and dignity for each other. Remember Haitians in our prays.

LIME being the major sponsor of carnival could have come better than that.

It should not matter whether the LIME girls dress like that during carnival or church. does the time of day or year makes it right or wrong. If they are dress inappropriately during carnival or during summer. It is inappropriate, and it is inappropriate. We should have respect year round for our bodies not only when we go to church.
The question is it is carnival and where do we draw the line. Or do we draw any line at all. Next year when they decided to go more naked, and 2012 they go more naked, and 2013
more naked when do we stop. Eventually we willbe walking naked within the next few years. Nothing wrong with their shorts, but maybe a little light coverup would do.

And Mouth of La Pointe, why don’t you start at dressing up your own home and backyard appropriately first. You forget where you from nur? It doesnt even be carnival and allu does have much more exposed and doing. Ah? Or you just simply hating on our beautiful lime girls for whatever reason. Mouth of La pointe….umm I haven’t been in da for carnival in a while but as far as I remember dem la pointe performing groups are always the most scandalously clad. You never see them la pointe flag wavers and those lil kids ages 4-6 whining down in short skirt and tops above their belly buttons? Please stop acting fresh

But the LIME girls were not naked. So what is the stress?
Dominica to full of self righteous and “holier than thou” people who are ready and quick to condemn those who don’t behave or think like them.
Clothes does not maketh a person. Maybe the girls wearing these outfits live a better moral life than those watching on the sideline fully covered up and acting like the Virgin Mary. Lots of them hide behind their clothes but in their hearts they are dark as hell itself.
As long as these girls are not prostituting themselves or making a fool of their bodies, what is the problem?

Free up the mass I was waiting for someone with no moral values and low minded to criticize my statement. Am not bothered what you say I will stick to my statement and you just have to respect it. Well is carnival so walk naked on the road. It is plain to see we have little morals left in this country. Is people like you that will walk half naked during carnival then months latter join a religion with long skirt etc and say carnival bad, carnival evil. I love carnival and I take part in it but in a modest manner. We need to stop being double standard in this country. Not because it is carnival we have to break loose and forget our Christian values etc Carnival is just two days. We like to say is carnival so we can do what we want then after carnival we sing another tune because we ashame of our actions. Is people like you that making the other religions say that carnival is evil and bad. The lime girls could have that same outfit but in a more descent manner. Its about time our Dominican girls show respect for their bodies. When a lady dresses she must always leave room for a man to visualize what’s beyond but no you ladies show off everything. even if the south havnt won the crown over a number of years now… ya’ll been giving us 1st runners up and second runners up for particular years where our representative deserved it. one day the moon will shine brightly on the real winner one of these good years……
but even if im not happy at the fact that the young lady that was crowned queen last year and that she could not capture not a single crown regionally, i hope ya’ll saw the mistake ya’ll made in points because clearly her speaking portion did not seem fit for a carnival queen and she needed to work on that.. look at this year…. lets see what is going to happen.

over the past years i saw true carnival queens … leandra lander (my favorite – her attitude and personality is not a lie she showed her true image on and off stage, loved her to the brim), marrah walter, kamala jno baptiste, nakita bruno, kemani felicite, gezel francis, marcela laroque, dana roberts and samantha (now letang)….these ladies were really queen like materials and there are others that i can’t remember right now cause im an 80’s baby.
i hope this 2010 carnival queen will be a real good one and be extraordinary

Shama St. Hiliare is Queen for 2010, last year they stole Sout City’s crown but certainly not this year. tell them we ready 4 dem. Shakira is our princess, Sherma is miss teen and Sharma is queen. who vex toof, thats d 2010 results

Bondiere, one thing I don’t understand about Dominicans is why they are so quick to use the word HYPOCRITE whenever someone gives his/her opinion about something. It’s either we agree or disagree about something but there is no need for us to be so ready to chop people off man. I for sure would not dress like the girls who represent LIME. I do not like the outfit and I think I have a right to say so. I’m woman and I love and cherish my body. I don’t have to use carnival as an excuse to prove a point… AMEN!!!!!

As a young woman with pride and dignity I find that the lime girls could have been a little more modest in their dressing. Yes am awaiting for some tongue lashing but I aint mind my back is broad and thats my opinion. Even if is Carnival we must still respect our bodies. Those young men love to see it but hey ladies they dont want their ladies to dress so.
