In response to demand from the Diaspora, the “Mr. Dominica” Show will be broadcast to the world, through a partnership with the Show organizers, Cee Media and Numusiczone.

“Dominicans in the Diaspora, family and friends won’t have to miss a beat when the seven contestants in the Mr. Dominica competition hit the stage.  They will be able to view the Show in real time via the Internet, regardless of where they are in the world,” the show’s organizer, Marie-Antoinette Mora, said.

The streaming technology is made possible through locally-based video production Company, Cee Media Inc., and overseas-based Caribbean entertainment marketing Company, Numusiczone.

Carlos Charles, CEO of Cee Media Inc. said, “From our base in Roseau, we are able to serve clients locally and regionally but, through smart partnerships, we can also reach clients across the globe.  This is a perfect example of one such partnership.  When we were approached by the organizers, we didn’t hesitate because the interest in this Show is phenomenal and we are very proud to be part of the production team that will facilitate viewing of the Show beyond the boundaries of Dominica.”

Dominicans Felix Augustine and Craig Bellot of Numusiczone said, “NMZ is pleased to be partnering with the organizers of the Mr. Dominica Show to provide the streaming technology that will deliver the Show to the homes of Dominicans in the Diaspora.  This is just the type of event that we are always looking for; something fresh, innovative and with major appeal to a wide cross-section of Dominicans.”

Persons wishing to view the Show via the Internet can log on to www.numusiczone.com/mrdominica.

The first-ever “Mr. Dominica” Show takes place at the Arawak House of Culture on Friday, February 10, 2012, from 8:00 p.m.

All i can say is that them fellas brave, positive, have a very high self esteem, they are willing and confident and did i mention BRAVE!! Huh. Cuz ppl VEX checkin why would a guy go up for a pagent, But at the same time no one would want to see them rob a store, So just be thankful that young men are finally doing something positive other than sports, just support them and hold back the negativity. Thats why young men are afraid to even take part in anything because they are afraid of what we DOMINICAN’s will say after, and look it’s already started! We want good but we bring out the bad.

really people, are you guys going to send a message to the prime minister of england, that you all are ready to give gays a green light, what about the children, what are we teaching them, why was there not a vote, like the one on them stupid statues,as far as i see these people got an agenda, they are intentionally projecting this skism in disrespect of our peoples morales and what we believe in,this not the first time local gays has tried to stage such a show,it has happened in the past, at the same arawak house of culture, just look at the timing, during our carnival season, why was there not a pilot project of sorts somewhere in the middle of the year, where everyone would have made fair assesment,if it was such significant show,i say something stinks about this show, and to add more salt to the wound it’s going world wide, for a first time show on dominica, before it was even tested, give me break, aye aye dominic.

and let me see again based on your statement, you think because in the UK it is alright, dominica must do the same thing,no we only do the sane thing, and it does not seem to me you read DNO much, because you would have known that the british (PM) camron or whatever the hell his name is, want us to remove any laws on homosexuals in other to recieve any assitance from the UK,so you wheel and come again, and start to enjoy (sweet hour of pray).

    • February 10, 2012

Absolute RUBBISH and what rock did you crawl out of from under!

If those morales in Dominica were so optimum as you say in your paranoia about “the children”, what makes you think that a harmless pageant is going to affect the children?

What you and other Dominican dumbos like you all should be worried, concerned about and raising your voices is all those peadophiles, child abusers and child molesters, that for years people in Dominica have systematically, failed the kids and not protected them from those monster and predators, by sweeping those dirty secrets under the carpet, and covering for those in higer/middle/lower sections of society on the island.

Hence so many angry young men and women around the island, not to mention the scared adults who felt abandoned when they cried out for help and no one heeded their call.

Dominicans have a tendency and bad hypocritical ways to use their religion as some sort of right to behave in a discriminatory manner towards others and then expect a part on the back for their foolishness.

Well I have news for you dumbo whomever you are, you are nothing more than an idiot and a coward to be making a cultural event into something unsavory, just because of your corrupted mind and prejudicial views.

Still at least the young are not out there committing burglaries, robberies, raping or molesting people, and instead are contributing to DA’s carnival. Kudos you all guys and here’s to a lovely pageant.

I think that WE Dominicans need to be open minded. there is nothing wrong with hosting a Mr Dominica Show. i have seen it in Trinidad and there is nothing wrong with it. alot of Dominicans need exposure and education to know whats happening in the world around us.I have Seen males model, modeling does not mean in a female beach wear. there are swim trunks men wear with surf boards to model. Its an interesting venture.just keep an open mind people. males participating in an event as this doesnt mean that they are gay.come on people we cant afford the rest of the world to say that we are narrow minded.

As a Dominican abroad,I see many of the Islanders having the same contest and is very supportive of their countries, there’s even such a show as Mr.Caribbean, why can’t Dominican’s ever be supportive of something thats harmless, besides i’ve seen such shows generate income that help their organizations, and in alot of cases, help other institutions such as schools in their own country, but its a real turn off when I read some statements on DNO and most of them are negative.

óCongratulations to dfc for adding another wonderful event to our carnival 2012 calendar but its just a shame that with sooo many business places around the country that these young men can’t get sponsored.its even more sad that our queen contestants can’t get a sponsor as well.we are the ones who spend our monies to make these companies successful and when comes to supporting our culture none of them come forward.big up to bulls eye pharmacy.so many chinese store in roseau(soon to be named chína town) and none of them sponsor or atleast part sponsor any event or contestant.with that said I wish all the contestants best of luck sponsor or not!

    • stupes
      February 2, 2012

the same way people ask others for sponsorship, did anyone ask the chinese for sponsorship? people to quick to bad talk others. allu dont want them here but allu want them to sponsor dominican things. stupes! allu confused

The Chinese do not have to wait to be approached. If they were integrated into the Dominican culture, they would have stepped forward and offer sponsorship. Where is their sense of corporate responsibility to the society that patronizes their businesses?

      • ..........

@ stupes. what u sayin is damn true

    • OPEN YOUR MINDS
      February 2, 2012

Whether or not chinese businesses have actually patronised the sponsorhip of competitors in as you say another cultural event really isn’t the issue.

The issue should be why is it that year, after year, after year we keep hearing the same old boring moans and whined from Dominicans.

You’ve said it yourself and as soon as the people of Dominica realise how powerful they are in term so of the support they give to businesses on the island, they will understand how they can make change.

These are the things that demonstrations should be organised about, the lack of such businesses on the island making it their responsibility to give back to their communities and not be so GREEDY.

Don’t patronise their businesses in droves and let them know about it, and see how they’ll begin to stop taking the general buying public for granted.

Looking at the island there are more than enough businesses who are doing well and others holding their own, who could sponsor the respective pageants for both categories, without baking an arm.

Also they should see the opportunity for marketing their bands as that is he biggest example of capitalising on free advertising for the future.

It is the responsibility of businesses to give back to the island and as many activities as possible, which in turn makes them happy, highlights their island and supports the competitors in the end.

Well done competitors for being brave enough to stand forward and make your island proud for participating. Well done!
