Nayee goes regional

The region and it’s music industry should begin to gear up for the level of connectivity which is being established by Dominica’s very own bouyon artist: Nayee.

Over the years, Nayee, whose real name is Neijel Jno Baptiste, has  collaborated with many artists around the Caribbean. He has created hit singles with these collaborations and is now showcasing his versatility in a soca-techno remix. The original song comes from the lead singer of Rebels Band HD, Showtime.

“I have always wanted to work with Nayee and it has been a true blessing when someone of his stature can reach out to another artist and not be afraid to show them the ropes…” stated Showtime.

The original song which was written by Showtime describes the feeling of partying higher than stars or satallites could ever go.

“Partying is bacchanal time so patrons are as high as Martians in space. It is not an encouragement for drugs and alcohol but merely the out of the world feeling you get when you are out partying having a good time,” said Showtime.

Showtime continued: “I would tell other Dominicans that Nayee is a true artist and musician… they should be real proud of him, St Eustatia people love him to death. Nayee is a icon and I salute him… definitely”

Nayee is also preparing to release a music video of his hit single “Darling”.

Darling is featured on his debut album “Chronicles” which is set to be released later this year.

Yes, atleast we Dominicans getting somewhere. Think of this… “Other people asking us to get on songs with them because they see how amazing our talent is”… why cant we think so and support. too much negativity. NAYEE, keep showcasing your talent and strive for the stars!!!

    Hello fellow posters.

Let me state that I’m not a citizen of Dominica nor Statia, but I am a lover of our culture.

Big up to those that support their local artists regardless. You have to learn to love yours before you can love others.

If Nayee had been on a remix with any big Caribbean or international artists, there wouldn’t be so much negative postings, but nuff big ups and so would have been posted.

The guy is just giving a helping hand to another fellow Caribbean artist/band and showcasing his talent, so give him a pat on the back for his good dead and a man’s talent isn’t limited to any single genre of music.

    Signed,
    Lover of my caribbean culture.

Neijel i am disappointed with the level of music you are putting out there…i might also suggest to you that while music may be your love to get a job. this in my opinion will take you nowhere. you are getting older…concentrate on being a man who can hold his own other than a man for looks and attire…real women are not impressed by these things..we want a man of substance

    I am not from DA…. I loveee Bouyon Music….
    Nayee is an ARTIST!!…
    DA music is BOUYON MUSIC.
Being an Artist in DA doesn’t mean…he should only make BOUYON MUSIC.

Nayee is good at what he does..and thats a fact…whether its soca, techno, dancehall or bouyon..NAYEE GOT THE SKILLS and THE VOICE to make it.

Support your own in what ever they do…because regardless to what type of music he makes…. He is from DA and its DA talent he putting out there. You dont have to like this song…..but that doesn’t mean that other ppl dont.
The music market in the world out there….is not confined to bouyon music….if you want to reach diffrent places you got to do things you never done before….

Nayee your great in what you do!!

I never know Statia have no big artist execept for ziggie rankin who is a holland based reggae artist. Is a good vibes helping out an up and coming artist kudos to Nayee, but is long time i see them fellas turn de bouyon to a kind a trini soca kind a ting and take out de tambal, gwage and de fion fion in de bouyon, in other words they take out de main seasoning in de bouyon. they chage de taste, That was de essence of bouyon music, a taste of our culture. Remember culture shock ? That was bouyon music my youts. Big up to Wackers, Cornell and Kieth, jah know is all you who start this ting.

      April 19, 2013

This song is not bouyon related. AND so what, the man is being featured on a soca-tehcno… OMG, why are you people soo negatively inclided. No one said it was a bouyon so where you come from talking bout the original members. hahahaha. soo silly.

      • Chef Boyzie
        April 20, 2013

Read deeper into the comment, is long time dem fellas turn de bouyon in a trini soca kind ah ting. they take out de tambal, gwage and fion fion words to that effect. This simply means that since Nayees bouyon music sounding more like soca music, He is appealing to a young soca singer from Statia. Norhing wrong in that is a good ting. Why try to make it look bad based on shallow thinking. I hear so many people trying to take credit for bouyon , all those who just born. I was here and It is these three guys who are the bouyon pioneers no one can touch that.

You know what i love about Nayee, he is real true musician. Nayee could be asked to be featured on a Reggae, Dancehall or even R&B song. He could write it and flow on it like a boss. Nayee was asked ot be featured on this NON-Bouyon song because the person obviously noticed his “talent” so shut up if u dunno what to talk about. NAYEE, WE LOVE YOU!! KEEP DOING YOUR THANG!!

DNO there’s a ‘blow his own trumpet’ DJ that always on your case on facebook for not promoting local. Well that shows him. I guess he expects you to come searching for him to promote his own work.

Anonymous I’m so glad you are not the only one who noticed. I mean it is one thing to have confidence in what you do but everyday this DJ keeps making posts trying to glorify himself saying he is the best and how he came a long way and blah blah. Give the audience a chance to decide and stop blowing your own trumpet. By the way as a side note, taking people’s songs, speeding up the tempo and putting it on a “bouyon” beat and titling it dj is not original

Titling it”artist” feat DJ “whoever” is not legal or original and i put bouyon in quotations cuz i don’t even consider that bishes bouyon. Real bouyon died in the early 2000’s

I’m glad u not the only one who noticed. Its one thing to be confident in what you doing but it is another thing to be constanstly glorifying yourself on Facebook saying how great and how you came as long way blah blah blah. Let the audience speak for themselves stop blowing your own trumpet. By the way as a side note, taking an artist’s song, speeding up the tempo and putting it on a “bouyon” beat is not original.
