NCCU sponsors pageant contestant

Jacintha Fagan of Checkhall, one of the seven ladies who will compete in the 2011 Miss Dominica Pageant, has secured sponsorship from the newly amalgamated National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU).

She was officially sashed as Miss NCCU at a small ceremony yesterday at the cooperative’s office.

Chief Executive Officer of the NCCU, Aylmer Irish said that Fagan will go down in the NCCU’s history books for being the first ever queen contestant to be sponsored by the cooperative since its registration as a new entity on November 1, 2010.

President of the credit union, Dexter Ducreay said that the society is elated to sponsor Fagan and offers her their full support.

Meanwhile Event’s Director of the Dominica Festival’s Committee Natalie Clarke-Meade encouraged Fagan to perform to her best.

On March 4, 2011 Fagan will go head to head with six fellow contestants at the Carnival City for the Miss Dominica Pageant crown.

The other contestants are Cornillia Hazel of Goodwill, Nasha Faustin of Morne Prosper/Citronier, Michelle Joseph of Morne Bruce, Earlene Labassiere of Goodhope/San Sauveur, Ruth Augustine of Kings Hill and Roselia Bazil of Capuchin.
