Kadeen Tyson of Nevis has walked away with the title of Mr Caribbean 2014 held at the Arawak House of Culture on Friday night.

He also captured the best in costume, best in swimwear and best in formal wear awards.

He took home a BlackBerry 9720 from Lime, a trophy and $3,000.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Godwin Charles got the first runner position with and the best talent award.

He received $2,000, a BlackBerry 9720 and a trophy.

Second runner up position went to Ronnie Morris of Barbados with best interview.

He received $1,000.

A total of six Caribbean islands participated and Dominica was represented by Yannick James.

The show was heavily criticized on social media as being associated with homosexuality but organizer of the event, Antionette Mora, has dismissed such suggestion.

“I’ve learn that we stifle creativity, talent and expression of our young men and then we wonder why there’s crime, delinquency, truancy and mayhem,” she said.

It’s a shame when people just say things and condeming everything but yet still they are the ones that lie, steal, cheat, funnicate ,adultry and all the wrong things you can think of but they pretent to be perfect .Grow up people and get something to do instead of just sitting arround waiting for government to give you work and commenting on everything that happens cause I’m sure if you guys had a job you would have better things to do with you time

Prostitution, strip clubs, marijuana smoking, bestiality, child marriages, homosexuality……….are some of the other things that go on in the world.

So if the rest of the world eats rubbish for desert, we should do likewise and say it nice(aka ‘good’ entertainment)….just so we can be open-minded like the rest of the world eh.

Well there’s a saying that goes like this – “If your mind is too open, your brain will fall out.” Stop being a follower alright.

I know right! So what if the world is building international airports. We do not have to. The thing in life, if it is not your thing then don’t bitch about it. You should only complain when something is affecting you directly.

Please note, the MIND exist within the brain and not vice-versa. So even if it is wide open the mind cannot fall off. Further more the brain is physical and the mind is non-physical.

I am convinced that Dominicans can really be dummies in can. A positive show for young men yet they seek to destroy it because of their homophobia. Why are so many in Dominica irrational? Why are they tolerating unethical and corrupt behaviour in government yet try to undermine people who are doing good?
