Preparations underway for Fete Isidore in San Sauveur

Fete Isidore in the community of San Sauveur is carded for June 10th-13th, 2011.

Organizers say the activities will be held in memory of three people of San Sauveur who lost their lives after being covered by a massive landslide during the celebrations last year. Flora Stoute, 76, Harrison Stoute, 51, and Jael Stoute, 5, will be remembered during the weekend of activities that culminates with a mass in their honour on Pentecost Monday.

The activities which mark the annual Farmer’s feast, celebrated by the communities of Good Hope, San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere, are expected to draw Dominicans from across the country to the traditionally festive occasion.

A Miss Isidore Pageant featuring six contestants from the Carib Territory, Castle Bruce, Good Hope, San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere will take place on Friday June 10th.

A fish and talent night is planned for Saturday June 11th featuring local talent in song, dance and poetry, from communities spanning the entire parish of St. David. Saturday’s event will end with the Kubuli Big Truck jam.

Community domino, basketball and football groups are expected to converge on the San Sauveur School grounds for a grand Sports Day on Sunday June 12th.

On Pentecost Monday, June 13th, a cultural gala featuring Damas Challenger of Castle Bruce, Sound Masters of Good Hope and other cultural groups from the area will follow the Isidore mass, which will be broadcast live on radio and television.

Two community elders who have given long service to the celebrations of the Feast of St. Isidore will be honoured during the mass.  Fete Isidore ends with music from DJ Miguel Labadie and the Fanatik Band.

Proceeds from the activities will go towards the refurbishment of the two historical San Sauveur church structures- the 100 year -old plus presbytery and the church building which are in urgent need of repairs.

imagine three people lost their lives unexpectedly last year in San Sauver instead of you all people thinking of revisiting the kind of lifestyles you live you all quarreling about which Fete Isidore is going to be the best.
Instead of having this Big Mass in the honor of these three people who died maybe we should think of changing our lifestyle from one of rum and sewo to one of serving God. Young people the biggest LIE the devil ever manufactured is to tell you that every time you die ‘is your time that come’
The devil wants people for his kingdom too so do you think that he is going to give you a chance to make it right with God before you die. NO definitely not. That is why he(the devil) kills you all when all you are at the pick of being drunk and stupid. Be real people do you think want drunkards and revelers in heaven? No definitely not. And that is exactly what the feast of St. Isidore promotes. It is opened with a so called blessing by a religious leader and then it is all about the consumption of ALCOHOL.
Awake Awake and see what Satan is doing.
