“The Beauty of Aging” pageants set for August

pageantIf you’re in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s…or even 90’s and you think your days of competing in pageants are over? Think again!

There are three pageant competitions being organized that will be spread over the August Monday weekend.

The pageants are open to all females 25 years and over. There is no age limit.

“If you believe that you have what it takes to represent, you can register, regardless of whether you have children or not and irrespective of your height, size, marital status, education level…” the organizers said in a release.

The 25 Plus & Fabulous competition is open to females between the ages of 25 and 39, 40 Plus & Fabulous includes anyone between the ages of 40 and 59 while the Seniors’ Pageant will capture persons 60 years and over.

The 25 plus contestants kick off the pageant marathon on Friday, August 2.

The 40 plus show takes place on Saturday, August 3, and the seniors will hit the stage on Sunday, August 4.

The organizers said the pageant has been themed “The Beauty of Aging” because “everyone is fabulous in their own right and talented in some way.  All myths about age in relation to beauty, charm, grace, talent and intelligence will be dispelled on that weekend.”

All contestants will compete in talent, swimwear, evening wear and interview segments.  The competitions will also include one or more of the following segments: casual wear, lingerie, shock wear, sleep wear and party wear.

Interested persons are asked to collect registration forms at Prima Donna or The Glam in Roseau.

Deadline for registration is May 15th, 2013.

Why want to put up 3 Pageant Competitions? To me, you are being unfair. What about someone having plans to set up a Pageant in her age group. My advice to you is that if you want a professional pageant, focus on 1 and not 3 at the same time.

I really think they should eliminate the swim wear aspect of it. If you are trying to attract all women especially those who have had children I think they should eliminate the swim wear round and go for some form of creative wear instead.
