Excitement and nervousness are said to be clearly evident as contestants in the Miss Caribbean World 2012 pageant go for the crown on Saturday evening.
The show is to take place in Tortola and fashion pundits have descended on the territory predicting ‘tight competition.’
Last Wednesday the 17 contestants displayed their intelligence in the interview section of the show before a set of judges and members of the public.
However all eyes are on the second part of the show where contestants will compete in swimwear, costume, talent and evening wear segments.
Dominica is being represented by Nadira Lando, who captured the Miss Dominica crown during the carnival season. Her team has predicted victory and said she will bring the crown to Dominica.
The contestants are: Anguilla, Olufunmike Banks Devonish; Antigua & Barbuda, Jnoure Smith; BVI, Abigail Hydman; Cuba, Alina Rodriguez Roberts; Curacao, Marvia Laurence; Dominica, Narida Lando; Dominican Republic, Suzan Castano; Jamaica, Roneisha James; Margarita Island, Rosairym Machado Noguera; St. Kitts & Nevis, Venetta Zakers; St. Lucia, Consuelo Dupal; St. Maarten, Trumane Trotman; St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Aviar Charles; Trinindad & Tobago, Wendy Thomas, USVI, Temisha Libert and Venezuela, Greisel Rivero Sojo.
The pageant begins at 7:00 pm.
