Two teams from Trinidad captured the top spots in the just concluded Nature Island Challenge, placing first and second.
Team Trinidad White grabbed a total of 220 points while Team Trinidad Red, 215 points.
Team USA got the third place slot with 205 points.
Team Dominica placed fourth with a total of 195 points.
Team Trinidad White received season passes for this year’s World Creole Music Festival and a complimentary Weekend at Fort Young Hotel.
The second Trinidad team received nightly passes to WCMF.
Teams Dominica and USA received tickets to Jazz ‘n Creole 2014.
For participating in the media challenge, all teams were awarded some cases of Kubuli Beer.
An award ceremony was held for all the teams on Friday night.
The challenge began on Wednesday, April 8 and entailed a four-day hiking race which took competitors over 50 miles along the renowned Waitukubli National Trail.
Along the way they were faced with various adventure and cultural challenges.
A video of the event will now be produced for distribution to national, regional, international and internet outlets.
Last year the Nature Island Challenge was televised on NBC TV as part of World of Adventures Sports and on Universal Cable.
Cmon team Dominca… Losing to a bunch of girls in your own country is downright embarassing.
Shame on the Dominican team very weak. You all need to start practicing for the next time.
Who gives a monkeys, who win or not it is only a game, no big deal. Can you people who critesise do better, them step up
lol…Dominica.I guess we have become too complacent.
check team USA women only awa magwaysa dominique
One last thing. Team Dominica all four of you are footballers \cricketers common why so many cramps. I hope we dominicans are looking at the mistakes so we can change them around to be the number one. Congratulations trini
It says that we Dominicans don’t take the opportunity to walk our own trail. Good luck next time team Dominica
Team Dominica, I expect you will get some flack for placing fourth. Better luck next time. The saying, you win some, you lose some. C’est la vie. You will agree it was fun and meeting and making new friends.
Probably you could, in advance perform some exercise as running and weight-lifting to boost your energy and strength.
That’s very good Vibs indeed, sad to see that team Dominica came so fay back, none de less great move to promote Da. am sure more team from around the world would love to come down for that. good things like these can not be keep a secret.
Are these the prizes for real . If these are actually the prizes the organizers aren’t ready yet . Thats a joke man. Are they paying the airline tickets for the teams to come and enjoy their prizes? No wonder the participation from other regional countries so low. Its not worth it .
I disagree though….
I love this event. Team Dominica has to do better job than 4th Place. You would figure that we would use our local-knowledge to our advantage. Maybe next time around we will do much better.
The prizes are a very nice way to promote Dominica. Maybe adding a lil cash price to it would have also been nice.
I agree. They are young people and may be satisfied with the prize.
To the promoters, to raise money for the cash prize, along the way they could fund-raise by those who see them and cheer them on. Of course, if they are told in advance. The promoters could find a way to contribute some funds for this purpose.
How many teams participated?
Well done to the winning Team. That’s the nature of sports – some you win and some you lose. We can’t win everything however I’m sure that a very good time was had by all. I hope they all tell their family and friends how beautiful and natural DOMINICA is!!! God bless DOMINICA !!
Awesome!
Dominica better luck next time.
Team Dominica embarrassing me man. I cannot believe they let out siders come and win them on their own trail. My head bow down
How they embarrasing you? not like they didnt win any of the challenges toneh…Next year sign up to take part if you can do a better job….These event is not as easy as you think it is….Lat year no one from Dca represented,,,this year we had representatives and u choose to be nagative…Geez man typical Dominicans….
That’s the prize ?
All I will say is voleh…instead of helping Marigot Mayfest develop their May Challenge .. Discover Dominica teif it….but doh worry change must come.
Fantastic event! Congratulations to all of the teams and sponsors. Special kudos to the organizers and everyone behind the scenes helping things run smoothly! I know it was a lot of hard work, but your efforts really paid off. What a great way to promote the Nature Island!
Congratulations to the Trinidad teams and also to all the participants. While we are disappointed that the Dominica team did not win, let’s hope that some skills/techniques were learned to pass on to our next team 2015. Great initiative DDA!
I am nit impressed with the prizes
congrats to my countrymen for 1st and 2nd place and to my own for placing fourth and also to Team USA – All in all great effort by all.
good effort team dominica you all will get them next year

Team Dominica that’s your territory you guys should have mastered the challenge with your eyes closed.
AHH!! AHH! it is humiliating to see foreigners come and beat us on our own trail, man what a shame…
I so love the idea if the challenge, and even more so, the publicity it gives to Dominica. Sadly, our team did not top the race. Good work, guys. The gold is still within your reach.
That’s just how the Dominica Labour Party is going to sweep the polls and the Wesley seat will go to teacha Glo and the senator bazil will be sent to brazil lol.
As I was saying congratulations to Dominica in placing last. One day we will stop being car car rat.
Politics again.
Congrats to the T&T team. Disappointed in the Dominicans. Good initiative but I think they need to bump up the price to attract more people. I wish the event continues and gain strength.
Team Dominica came LAST? What an embarrassment! Did they not prepare or was it purposefully done?
great idea. dnt think much of the prizes though.
thank you
