Under-ten team wins Stardom “Clash of the Ages”

Stardom Tent patrons

Patrons of Stardom Calypso Tent Charles received a treat from the younger, less experienced calypsonians in the tent who upstaged their more seasoned counterparts in “The Clash of the Ages” on Wednesday night.

The show featured a showdown between those calypsonians who’ve been in the business for fewer than ten years going one on one against the more seasoned campaigners.

The line-up for Wednesday’s clash included: Checko vs De Observer, Comforter vs Daddy Chess, Black Diamond vs Hunter, Kris B vs fellow native from St. Joseph, Jamma B, Web vs Caressa, Beno vs Checker, Lugars vs Scrunter, Lady Star vs Manhimself, Twana vs Picky, Unwanted vs Sour Sour, Della vs Intruder, Explosion vs Ras Kelly, Son of the Saint vs DBS, Shadow Flow vs Dyno, Ghetto Prince vs Third Eye and Energizer vs Big Jeff.

The much anticipated husband and wife duel between Daddy Chess and newcomer, Electra did not materialize as Electra  was feeling a little bit ‘under the weather’.

The prize for the winning team was five cases of Kubuli beer and two cases of Red Cap rum.

Below are some photos taken at the event.

I made the same observation. Maybe you are right to conclude as you did, because I get the distinct feeling. I have worked with lady star from the second year of her Jr. Monarch era and that year the crown narrowly eluded her for what ever reason; she placed first.

She however, has remained steadfast. She keeps working HARD and one day she will be taken seriously. She is a formidable, phenomenal woman and true Kaisonian. Star my dear, please let your light shine. You are young and full of life. Please do not give up and your hard work will be rewarded.

Big respect to Stardom Tent and Showdown Mass Camp. Long live Calypso.

      Peace
