Teyat Pawol’s popular play ‘Woman Can Lie’ will be staged in Houston, Texas, this weekend.
The following is the text of release issued by the group about the upcoming event.
“The Sun News Paper writes that ‘Woman Can Lie’ is “arguable Dominica’s most anticipated theatrical production of the last decade”.
Woman Can Lie exposes questionable dealings of selected females, in the case of the play, a character named BETH, who choose to deceive men and cheat her way around several relationships. The play examines the crimes of infidelity carried out in covert, but painful ways by women to unsuspecting men, a character named RUDY in that case. The intention of the play is to place attention on one of the ills of society perpetuated by women of a special ilk; it is expected to be an eye opener.
The lead role, a character named BETH, a female in her 30’s, is played by Rashida Gachette, Dominica’s leading Actress. Rashida has well over 30 years in the arts, and she is the longest serving, continuous actor with the group. Mickael Ferrol, Dominica’s most versatile cultural practitioner and famed dramatist is down to play BETH’s trusted and blind boyfriend RUDY The exciting student actress, 16 year old Kimarah Laurent plays RHONDA, a female in her 20’s who is BETH’s distant relative. FEFE, a female in her 40’s (Beth’s best friend) is played by Nyameke Daniel who has been with Téyat Pawol from its inception in 2001. Kareen Joseph, a full of life Caribbean woman, plays OCTAVIA, a self righteous woman in her 30’s. The veteran Emile Serrant plays PASTOR MOORE, a ‘Pastor’ in his 50’s. Serrant is a well known Caribbean Community organizer, based in Florida, and is an absolutely funny personality. Alex Bruno, the group’s Writer/Artistic Director.
The group which began in Florida U.S.A., performed its first play ‘As You were’ in Hollywood, Fl. on May 25, 2001. So far the group has produced a total of twelve (12) plays, including ‘Woman Can Lie’. The others being; Pampo – January 27, 2002, Neg Mawon – August 29, 2002, In Between Deaths – May 27, 2005, Neg Mawon Creole – September 25, 2005, Alwin Bully’s The Nite Box – May 6, 2006, From Death to Glory – August 5, 2006, Diaspora – May 2, 2008, Flashback – November 27, 2009, Man Does Lie – August 6, 2010, Man Does Lie 2 – November 26, 2010, and ‘Woman Can Lie’ which is carded for March 2, 2013 at Stafford Civic Center on 1415 Constitution Ave Stafford, TX 77477

I suppose you meant to write me·di·o·cre and not ‘medeoca’. Mediocre means “of only moderate quality; not very good, such as “a mediocre actor”.
Now, here is what Ian Jackson thought of our work:”Woman can lie is arguable Dominica’s most anticipated theatrical production of the past decade lived up to the billing of ‘outrageously outrageous’. Jackson continues: “a very entertaining 10th Anniversary production, Hilarious!”
I wish I could publish the entire review, but I guess you get the point. I suggest that you speak for yourself Mam and your scheme will not work. The last time we were in Houston, we had really good support and this time, by the grace of the almighty, it will be better.
