Acting Senior Meteorological Officer Cheryl Etienne-Leblanc is advising the public to put measures in place for the upcoming hurricane season.
In an official statement released today, Leblanc noted that the latest outlook for the 2010 season have predicted an above average season.
“It must be noted that it is impossible to accurately forecast hurricane activities far in advance of the season. Residents, businesses and government agencies should prepare for every season regardless of the forecast,” she said.
According to Leblanc, it is not how busy a season is that matters for us here in Dominica, but simply if we are impacted.
“An impact can happen in any year, whether a below or above average season. We must be prepared,” she added.

…Anyway, we are in agreement with what she says and will do everything to prepare for the season.
