The European Union and the Government of Dominica funded SFA 2003 Waitukubuli National Trail Project announces its Summer Adventure and Hike Media Event carded for Sunday, August 29, 2010. The Programme promises to build public awareness and appreciation for the Waitukubuli National Trail Project (WNTP) and the Waitukubuli National Trail and engender public support and stakeholder buy-in.
This family fund day event is also designed to highlight on-going work of the WNTP and will feature a series of challenge races and fun activities, the unveiling of a billboard promoting the WNTP and a Closing Ceremony which will feature short presentations by personnel of the WNTP Project Management Unit, recognition and presentation of prizes to outstanding performers and a closing Block-O-Rama with entertainment being provided by the Fanatik Band and Club DVD Sounds. 2
The fun activities planned will be like nothing ever done before in Dominica and will feature team challenge adventures and hiking events for children and adults. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to winners of participating teams, the oldest and youngest participants, as well as the outstanding participants. Participation is open to all interested and a special invitation goes out to all groups to register a team to participate in the event.
The day’s activities are scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. and races will be held on sections of Segments 4 and 5 of the Trail and within an area spanning Sylvania and the Emerald Pool. Following the competitions, activities will however be held within community of Sylvania.
There will be refreshments as well as snacks and lunch on sale and all are invited to this first WNTP Adventure and Hike Media Event.

September 26 is “WORLD RIVERS DAY 2010”! The focus will be in the Carib Territory this year at the Kalinago Barana Aute.
The World Rivers Day Committee hopes and pray that WNTP will join in the Day of Action for our Rivers under the theme: “WHERE HAVE OUR 365 RIVERS GONE?”
