Exhibition highlights local products

A mini-exhibition displaying local products was held at the Krazy Kokonuts on Wednesday morning

The exhibition which displayed various locally made products such as jams, juices and clothing formed part of a meeting between Government and visiting Dominicans who live abroad.

Nationals residing overseas, locals and various other participants at the event were treated to a variety of local dishes including souse, acras, and locally made juices and rum.

The meeting and exhibition also gave members of the Dominican diaspora the opportunity to meet and interact with the prime minister and his cabinet colleagues.

Small paraphernalia including “I am Dominica” stickers, pens, and bags were distributed.

Here are some photos of the exhibition.

Instead of some pictures we need to see more, also pictures of the audience, that would be great seeing more pictures of those returnees and the government officials, since not too many of us are fortunate to be there

The local jams would do well for me right now on a toast, i am so home sick

Great initiative by the government. Hats off to Ms. Mandra Fagan who is the Senior Technical Officer who organised this event. I attended and was impressed with the whole set up and the idea of having nostalgic products was ingenious! I look forward to seeing Dominican products on the supermarket shelves in New York, and not just those from Trinidad and Barbados.

  4. amidst gambling?

Casino gambling, illegal in Dominica, according to our Constitution, was instituted at Krazy Kokonuts with no problem. The facility (gambling) was personally opened and praised by the ‘Supremo.’ Any personal interests? Not even the churches priests and pastors raised any eyebrows.

Our tax money was taken, donated to the proprietor of Krazy Kokonuts for renovations. That is a fact. Thousands upon thousands of dollars into that project. Dominicans know what is going on. No % of profits from events there goes back to the Treasury. Poor people money used to enrich certain proprietors. No dog bark.
