Glad to see you go. You are the most boring person I’ve ever had to sit and listen to. Your voice and words cannot encouraged ANYONE. Listening to you on the radio or TV over the years was like someone giving an obituary….! Antoine Lavoisier, a French chemist, once said, “Matter cannot be destroyed”. So, like every individual from a non-functional/government-backed position, I have no doubt that you’ll do like any common ‘yard cat’ and land on your feet somewhere else.

Colin Piper was tapped to take us over the finishing line with the 5th WCMF after the sudden death of Eddie Toulon a few weeks before the event. He was a member of the organizing committee DFC. With a strong supporting cast of highly motivated and dedicated colleagues he understood the assignment and delivered, before the baton was passed to Jeffrey Brisbane the following year. Colin brought his private sector background, youthful energy and experience in international markets to bear in the execution of the event. Under his strong advocacy Creole in the Park, was first held that year at Peebles Park and this activity laid the groundwork for the introduction of Creole B’ord La Mer at Potters ville savannah all with the aim of increasing spending opportunities and the multiplier effect from WCMF. I tip my hat in appreciation for his service at a turning point of the festival. and thank him for his contribution.

Piper has always been disconnected with the reality on the ground especially concerning event productions, He would travel to regional festivals and try to model Dominica’s own arround what he see in those regional events. Has he been to Glastonbuyr festival, Cochella Festival? No, Most likely does not even know about them.
Insider deals was another failure of his.

If I was in the ministry’s position for hiring a new replacement, it should be done on a yearly contractual arrangement. Create a sense of competition in the organisation.

Good riddance to incompetence! 15 wasted years at the helm of what should have been the cream of the crop when in comes to Caribbean tourism and entertainment. Please don’t let the door catch you in the rear end on your exit. Now I hope Mrs. Cradle Snatcher finds a better beff pounder and coffee maker to replace you. After all, in Dca this DLP administration thrives on mediocrity.

A man with no vision. the next to happen is to get rid of the incompetent PM, Minister of NS, Act Police Comissioner, Minister of Tourism etc. The worst Governance and Country management ever in Dominica existence. FIFTEEN YEARS? You should have a huge number of achievement, but i have read ZERO!
The tourism sector will continue to suffer, because it is replete with square pegs in round holes. Is Denise Charles the best Dominica can have as tourism minister? Look at how unsightly the bay is. Roseau is an eyesore, i feel ashame when tourists walk through Roseau. A tourist asked me on Valley Road (he was standing on half a sidewalk close to a burnt building), how close is he to Botanical Gardens. During the brief conversation, i told him i am a Grenadian, not Dominican! That’s how doggone bad i felt. His wife almost landed into an oncoming vehicle. No side walks. Roseau smelling “PESAR”. Watch the state of roads leading to our natural sites. Those key players in the tourism sector should be sent home. This country is terribly bad..It honours mediocrity and criticizes professionalism.
