Female lawyer of Dominican parentage elected leader of political party in Canada

Annamie Paul, Toronto-based lawyer of Dominican parentage

Toronto lawyer, Annamie Paul, who is of Dominican parentage, has been chosen by members of the Green Party of Canada to to replace Elizabeth May, after a year-long race.

Paul is the daughter of Peter Paul of St. Joseph who has been described as a long time ally of Rosie Douglas

According Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) article, Paul was the perceived frontrunner heading into the final vote because she had raised the most money — $206,000 — and racked up a number of endorsements from former Green Party candidates.

Paul, who is the first Black permanent leader of a major federal political party in Canada, assumes the leadership of a party that has been closely tied to May for the better part of the last 14 years.

Before handing the job to Paul, May delivered an impassioned plea to Canadians to do more to address the climate crisis, saying the ongoing fight against COVID-19 can’t distract from pressing environmental concerns.

The CBC article says Paul claimed victory with 12,090 votes against her closest competitor, Dimitri Lascaris, another lawyer and a self-described radical and “eco-socialist,” who had 10,081 votes, after eight rounds of voting.

Tony, here is a dose of my medicine shut up; but before you comply and shut up; tell me what’s the significance in linking her to Roosevelt Douglas?

When Roosevelt Douglas was running “Terrorist Camp in Libya,” as he Roosevelt claimed, that lady was yet a child.

My oldest son died at 51 from a heart attack, my second son is now 51, years old now I have a daughter 48 years old, the other one (I doh quite remember) I have to call her and find out; oui!

Roosevelt Douglas, 1941 – 2000; Roosevelt (Rosie) Bertrand Douglas, politician, born 15th October 1941; died 1st October 2000, aged 58.

You know that sucker and I born in the same month, my birth day is October 3rd.

Seriously Tony, if Dominicans want to claim her as one of their own, that I can understand, but to pull Rosie Douglas name out of nowhere to link to her makes absolutely no sense!

There are so many things in her background that many of you do not know, which are much more important than focusing on her father was an ailed of Roosevelt Douglas?
If you think I am negative, here is negativity; who the hell is Roosevelt Douglas?
         Roosevelt Who?
Talk about the lady conversion to Judaism; and married to a Jew; talk about her educational Background which Rosie Douglas if he lived for a thousand years could never ever accomplish remotely what she has!

If you know Roosevelt Douglas, you are now screaming “well him major in political science.” Well I boy Francisco agree with you; but de man couldn’t graduate; and blame racism, prejudice; them white professors doh pass black fu graduate oui!
Hence, de man set Sir George Williams University Computer Center pan fire nuh!So, I gave him hell, by singing Disco Inferno to him.
Do you remember: Burning, burning, burning disco inferno: burn that mother down!
        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahha.
        Having rain; I have 108…

Something is wrong with this story; and  picture!

If I was one involved in assessing peoples age; I would conclude that that woman is far from Rosie Douglas Douglas age; unless that picture was taken fifty our more years ago.

if Rosie Douglas was alive the man would be almost eighty (80) years plus!

I am not looking at an seventy year old photograph; the idea of evoking the name of Roosevelt Douglas these days is simply to present him as someone important; who has contributed miracles  Dominica, and the world.

That man contributed nothing to Dominica, never mind the world!

If anybody want to talk about Roosevelt Rosie Douglas, let us return to his days at SMA and most definitely his wasted; and violent days attending Sir George Williams University.

Let us review his days in Libya using his own words; let us review the day when he landed in Dominica accompanied by Canadian police in shackles.

Review him burning Canadian flag in front Royal Bank Canada in Dominica.

Dominicans do not have to like me because I exists in reality, I don’t fake anything simply to be heard or loved!
Me woman and me children, and grandchildren love me dat enough oui!

      Hahahahahahhahahahahah!

My point is: this woman was born on the third day of November, 1972; she is only 48 years old or there about!

Well, she is indeed: (2020 – 1972 = 48 years: Rosie left SMA  around 1964, she was around twelve years old; so this so called association with Mr. Douglas is in factually a lie!

By then Rosie Douglas was in jail in Canada; on his release he was escorted back to Dominica in shackles on his hands, and feet.

So, can someone tell me when did this young woman ever associate with Rosie; who if not dead would be in his early eighties!

So, let me see how many thumbs down I am going to get on this on simply; there are people in Dominica for some insignificant reason wish to give Roosevelt Douglas a bed of Rosie while he is dead.

      History is what it!

SIR, it may be good to read the article again. This time maybe a bit slower and more carefully. This is what was stated in the second paragraph:

Paul is the daughter of Peter Paul of St. Joseph who has been described as a long time ally of Rosie Douglas.

It is apparent that the reference to Rosie is more in relation to her father, Peter Paul, who more than likely, would be the age group of Rosie.

“Paul is the daughter of Peter Paul of St. Joseph who has been described as a long time ally of Rosie.”

Okay, so assuming my father was an a friend of the devil; does that make me or any of his children the friend of the devil?

I read the article; Roosevelt and her father relationship does not have anything to do with her.

She might be ashamed to know that her father was an associate of Roosevelt Douglas!

Boy, let me tell you something, there is no glory in  what Roosevelt has done; he was lucky to get out of Libya alive; take it from someone who knows.

My former wife was deeply involved, Tim Hector indoctrinated my former wife, she indoctrinated me; Tim Hector  mother was her aunt, as well as her mother was his aunt!

When Gaddafi refused to talk with Roosevelt Douglas; when he found out the three hundred were not Dominicans, he installed Tim Hector as his Caribbean lieutenant.
When they began teaching Leninism wife/me quit!

First let me congratulate her and wish her good success. It’s always good to see Dominicans or Dominican roots succeed abroad, though Skerrit thinks they are incapable to do anything to help the cause of Dominica.
Another striking thing that stayed with me is this: “Paul was the perceived frontrunner heading into the final vote because she had raised the most money — $206,000 —”. Is Skerrit hearing that? All we seeing is Skerrit using millions to campaign without any accountability. So we don’t know how much he raised, who contributed and if the money he using is government money or DLP money. All we getting from him is, “it’s not your damn business.”

    • October 13, 2020

@It’s my damn business” How do you compare the role of PM Skerrit with someone who is simply entering membership of a political party?

You ask what did PM Skerrit contribute? Is 20 years going on 25, not enough for you to see his contribution? Well, it is a good thing that the MAJORITY of Dominicans have seen that is the reason they keep choosing him, and unless he decides to leave his seat, he will always be chosen.

The news article said: “Pail was perceived the frontrunner heading into the final vote because she had raised the most money–$269 000”. This, to me, sounds a lot like that is the primary reason they chose her–all over the place it is about the money. Would she have been chosen if someone else had raised that amount of money or more than it? Just wondering!

PM Skerrit is working hard, very hard for the Nation of Dominica–it is too bad that the blind mice and the sleeping bats cannot see his work, and the never will
