Former student donates to New Town Primary pupils

Back to school preparations have been made a little bit easier for the parents of six students attending the Newtown Primary School, all thanks to a generous contribution made by Standardz Restaurant & Bar.

On July 25th, 2019, six pupils, one from every grade, each received a brand new school bag outfitted with several notebooks and all the text and workbooks required for entry into their new classes come September 2019. The contribution forms part of efforts to give back to the community who has supported the restaurant over the years.

Restaurant manager and former student of the school, Kyle Francis personally delivered the packages to the students and said “ the reason for the gesture is that we’re also into community work and empowerment. Standardz took the initiative to give back in a sense of education as it’s key and very important to us.”

Principal of the school Ms. Anita Williams who also addressed the gathering, expressed heartfelt thanks for the support of her students.

Francis encouraged the students to take good care of the textbooks as the plan is to continue the scholarship programme and hopefully, sponsor even more students in the next school year.
