The Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank (DAIDB) has made a cash donation to Castle Bruce as the community embarks on a project of establishing village signs.

The donation was made on Friday.

As part of the project, the Castle Village Council and a cross-section of community leaders have organized religious, educational, social and sporting activities for the community and a cultural gala will be hosted this weekend.

All activities are being held under the theme: “My Community, My Responsibility, Building on our strength.”

There will be performances by Chesterfield Seraphin, La Sel Difference, and various cultural groups from Castle Bruce and its neighbouring communities.

Proceeds from the gala and the AID Bank’s donation will go towards the establishment of village signs.

Organizers hope the activities will provide an opportunity for villagers to generate additional revenue and allow residents, visitors and Dominicans in the diaspora who are on the island, to enjoy the diverse cultural gifts of the Castle Bruce community.

Over the years, the Castle Bruce Diaspora has been very supportive of the community which, among other things, has been manifested in:
•    street lights;
•    scholarships to children of the community;
•    grass cutters to assist in the beautification of the village and
•    electronic equipment;

The AID Bank says it will continues to make substantial investments in the Castle Bruce Community, thus enhancing the livelihood of the people and increasing the economic activity therein. This, by extension, translates into increased revenue, foreign exchange earnings and jobs.

    Johnson Drigo is the best parl rep cb has ever had. He is down to earth, a man of the people and he doesn’t look out for jus his family and close friends…and we will vote for. He and he alone in the next election.,.,u can count on that

      U may have ur perverse reason for making that statement but we all know that Mr. Drigo can do so much better. I went to the fest and was quite appalled by the deteriorating condition of the roads, especially the roads in the village what a mess. Bloody shame. I listened to him speak and felt embarrassed for the ppl o CB, if those things mean nothing to CB then shame on dem, shame. Castle Bruce need better representation not somebody who like a kid want to make friends rather than build his community.

    Good. A proper plan must be agreed to for the DEVELOPEMENT of the playing field as the premier East Coast multi-sports facility and to which donations should be solicited.When this is done,at the appropriate time, I shall make a financial contribution to THAT project.
