National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) continues to support youth development and education with a donation of two projectors to the Dominica State College (DSC). The presentation took place at the DSC on Tuesday 13th January, 2015.

The Bank responded to a request by the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the college to provide projectors for their classrooms.

Marketing Associate at NBD, Lisa Latouche, who made the presentation, stated that the Bank’s presentation of the two projectors is testament to their commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities that they serve. “We know that you will benefit tremendously from them as teaching will certainly be more versatile; which will help sustain the high interest level that is necessary for forward thinking minds. We need a healthy and educated workforce to help propel Dominica forward.”

Miss Latouche encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities given to them to be more marketable globally. “With the foundation of a quality education, your opportunities are limitless,” she stated.

Dr. Donald Peters, President of the DSC, emphasized that national colleges cannot survive without donations from corporate citizens; and through this donation NBD has helped the DSC to advance the smart classroom concept.

“We are particularly pleased with NBD for taking the initiative to help us bring quality education to Dominica.  Technology is critical for the learning process because students learn more efficiently when they have audio and visual help,” he noted.

He said that the projectors are consistent with that concept and thanked NBD for their foresight in donating much needed projectors to their institution.

“Thanks to NBD because they have always been there,” he said.

NBD has had a long standing relationship with the DSC and a history of supporting educational initiatives in Dominica.

Why does Donald insist on wearing dark glasses during such a presentation? Totally inappropriate.
